So they arrest the guy and then strap him to the roof? or put him in the front trunk?

A tad impractical but hey no my government spending that money.

In that regard it's really no different than a motorcycle - you have to call it in and dispatch sends a suitable vehicle to transport the perps.

Difference is a motorcycle costs $35,000 done up maybe $50,000 and this car costs...I think you catch my drift.

Its for show, just like most exotic police cars. I doubt you'll be seeing that brought in for high speed chases

Dubai's deputy police chief says are in keeping with the Gulf capital's image.

obtained by the Dubai police for use at main tourist sites.
"The aim is to reflect the reputation of the emirate and the high stature it achieved," Mazeina said.
Quote:
"It will also help promote tourism and showcase the security role the Dubai police plays in safeguarding the city," he added.
Its not about practicality, they already admitted that its for show and sending on the message about Dubai's wealth to the world.

They can tow a mobile carriage behind it like those trailers used for transporting horses should they ever need to take a criminal in

I doubt there's much in the way of crime anyway. Most people there are loaded, so...

It's all just for show, like everything else there. Unique place - I've been there (as a peasant tourist) and was fascinated. Very impressive, but a little sterile for me. Kind of like Vegas, without the booze and girls and gambling... and crime...

I like the imagery of a Lambo Police car for a city of boundless bling - why not chase in style?

I could not imagine pushing a Lamborghini for a 12 hour shift. Squeeze in there wearing Sam Browns would be a killer, and I am not a big guy either.

Sure would be fun for a bit though. Maybe as a DARE car?

Was it Lamborghini that Richard could not get out if the hotel parking in Paris on episode of Top Gear? In any case I wonder about practicality of these cars in chases on rougher streets. Or even just cruising on them.

Anybody remembers the American Top Gear episode with Corvette police car. It was fast, but they had some tough time cruising through neighborhood streets - low clearance.

I assume this is just for effect and for tourists spots. I like much better the German police cars - BMWs, Passats and Mercedeses - depending which manufacturer is closest to the police dept; -).

Dubai police have a wide range of vehicles. The fancier ones are lambo and camaro. The more common and 'standard' ones are BMW 5 series and Nissan Xterra.

Don't a lot of people there abandon exotics after they tire of them due to high registration prices? Was this a converted abandoned car?

And as per usual with these outlandish Yahoo stories, the comments are the best part...

"If they arrest someone, they would have to sit next to them."
"I am sure they would call in a crown vic to pick up the person"
"So to escape capture, just jump over a curb. Brilliant."
"0-60 in under six seconds???? Thats the Toyaota Camry, the Aventador does it in 2.9 seconds! Do the writers not have access to the internet?"

purpose of lamborghini police car is writing fines for speeders on highways or for quick transport of human organs ready for transplantation
