Second hand luxury watch warranty?
This is for the US and UK (used) luxury watch market. Does the warranty follow the watch or just the owner? Or is it down to the individual watch seller company to make that decision? It's normal, in the UK anyway, that second hand watches, sold, come with a one year parts and labour warranty.
thanks for any info. |

The watch if it still in the manufacturers warranty period will keep it's warranty, it will always follow the watch not the owner. And like you said if bought pre owned will have a vendors warranty.

Thanks, I mean the second hand watch company's warranty, not Rolex, assuming the watch is older than 2 years.

I believe a Rolex serviced at one of the Rolex Service Centers gets a warranty. This is the only way Rolex will warranty a used Rolex. I've seen two years mentioned. My watch is at the Dallas RSC right now, and when I get it back I will confirm the warranty length. One reason I paid the premium to the RSC (about $200 more) was for the warranty. A good second reason is the authentication that every piece of the watch is from Rolex. I plan to sell the watch when I get it back after service...YG DJ or DD is calling me!

Not Rolex warranty. I mean a second hand luxury watch shop. When you buy a second hand Rolex from a 'used watch' jeweller you normally get a one year warranty from the jeweller (not Rolex warranty).
Does this warranty continue over with the watch if sold on again? |

Understood Larry. I did ask a large, used luxury watch, jeweller earlier and they stated that the watch is warranted, not the original buyer. I suppose its up to each individual retailer?
