Would call any of the sub range heavy watches and cases are not all that thick for a sports watch.The 16610 weight around 135grams, 14060M around 127grams. The newer ceramic 116610, 114060M models are a little heavier around 152 grams,even the DSSD although it is a thicker watch, is around 215 grams which is still not all that heavy.

I went from a DOXA which was heavier and quite a bit higher on the wrist so it was the opposite for me. All comes down to what you are comparing it to I guess.

I went from an IWC AT to a 16610, not heavy at all IMO.

I went from a Pam 001D to a 14060m to a dssd, which is heavy compared to the 14060m.

The SS SubC? No, not at all it felt extremely comfortable and the thick caseback just lifts it off your wrist a few mm. The YG Daytona however, that's another story. It takes a bit of getting used to but in a really good way!

The weight of the SS Sub is perfect and I like the fact that the YG is heavy, in fact, I love it, but it's heavy for a reason and if I had an SS watch this heavy, I don't think I would feel the same about it.

That is so true. I tried that as my first Rolex and exchanged it a couple of days later for a Sub.

You certainly do get used to the weight of the sub and I don't feel right without in on my wrist now...and no, when it is properly fitted the watch stays centered on top of your wrist with no problems! The perfect sports watch IMHO!

My Subs fit well when I first tried them on. I find the Explorer 1 and II's to be lighter.

Haven't really noticed the wieght of mine at all, so I guess the answer for me is no. Fits well under shirts, both single and double cuffed, so no problem with height from the wrist for me.

I went from a Milgauss to a Sub C so for me it was even lighter and sits closer to the wrist! No complaints here. Sub weight is just right to me.

You will get used to it pretty quick. I having been wearing a SD, a little Heavier than a Sub, and hardly notice it now.

The only watch I have ever worn where I noticed its weight was an Omega Seamaster chronograph. I have a SubC no-date, SubC Blue TT and, a DSSD. I put them on in the morning and never notice I'm wearing a watch until I look at it.

Unless it is a one pound watch then the weight of the watch will not bother me wearing it. ;)

From reading the responses it is obvious the perceived heft is relative to what you have been used to wearing. But I would be surprised if the SS Sub is much heavier (if at all) than the WG DJ you are currently wearing.

But to answer your question, yes, you will get used to it. Moreover, you will come to love the feeling of having a watch of real substance on your wrist. While it sits taller than the DJ, it has little problem nesting under the cuff of a dress shirt.

I came from a smaller Tag, and yes, it took about 2 weeks for the Sub to "feel right" - but now I love it. It also took some time to adjust to my shirt cuffs - I had many of my cuffs made larger to fit better.

Stick with it - shouldn't be too long/

Funny, for me it was the exact opposite! I walked away from a Sub-C brand new for 6000 bucks back in 2011 from Gibraltar because it felt too light and tiny for my taste.

Ended up buying a Glashutte Sports Evo Pano Date. Now that is HEAVY, German tank and built like one too, weighing in at 220grs! Best watch Ive ever owned too, but I like to really feel my watches!

Submariner, heavy? Sorry but I find this a little ridiculous.
I remember the first time I grabbed a Submariner, I thought it was fake or inferior in quality. Now the SubC has increased in weight marginally compared to the pre-ceramics, but to use the word heavy.....negatron.

My first nice watch was a Ti Seamaster chronograph. My second was a PAM 91. I wanted to buy a Rolex, but every time I tried a Submariner on I was underwhelmed. Fast forward a few years, and I tried a SD on. I wound up buying that one. I love it, and now I'm dying for a no date SubC. The extra heft compared to the older Subs is nice IMHO.

Yes it could be, but it depends on what you consider tight. You're watch should be comfortable to wear.
I wear mine very snug, above the wrist bone, with just enough slack to slide down over it towards my hand, then I shake it back up. Not even enough room to fit a pinky but that's me, it's comfortable like that, to me.

I don't find a Sub too heavy and I don't think it sits too high either. Just try it – I'm sure you'll be delighted with it!
