Should I trade a Sub LV (16610LV) for a 114060 Sub ND?
I wanted to run this by all of you here on TRF...
Should I trade my 50th anniversary Sub for a Sub C ND? I really like the maxi dial on both watches A LOT. I'm indifferent to the ceramic bezel insert (I actually like the aluminum insert better for swapping out different colors). I have always liked the clean symmetrical look of the ND, but the dial markers and hands on the 14060M just looked too small to me. The glide lock clasp seems, from a comfort perspective alone, to be extremely comfortable as opposed to the tuna clasp bracelet. Finally, the blue lume just looks really cool. I think the super-sized case would take some getting used to, but after reading this review: http://100percent-rolex.blogspot.nl/...60-review.html and this wear test review: http://100percent-rolex.blogspot.nl/...t-to-test.html I think it actually looks really good and very retro (1950s retro). I'd be interested in getting your opinions on this and also to see whether the consensus out there is that I would have to put money in the deal or not. Thanks in advance! Matt |

I wouldn't. The LV gives the best of both worlds, IMO.

No. Keep the LV and save for the ND Sub if you are a two watch guy.

Thanks guys.
I'm getting the sense that the overwhelming consensus is to keep it. Maybe I should look into getting the new bracelet instead because that i really what would make this perfect to me from a wearability perspective. Thanks again! |

Imho ABSOLUTELY......................
NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ps same answer for even considering putting on the newer (not better) bracelet. Cheers Pps as an alternative idea, in search of a clean look, I did let my LV & 14060M go while keeping my only remaining rotating Bezeled Diver, the 16600SD

Never. If you want a new look for the 16610LV, remove the cyclops. Then you have the best of both worlds.
I tried to get along with my SubC ND but the maxi case just kills it for me. |

Have you gotten a black bezel insert for your LV? Gives you a bit of variety at minimal cost...

N..........O!
Hold on to that LV. It is the best of both worlds. Classic proportions, maxi dial, flexibility to change the bezel insert to black if you desire, rock solid reliability, etc... I had a Sub C, sold it and bought an LV. I have never looked back. Don't get me wrong - the Sub C date or no date is a great watch. A matter of style & taste to me. I do agree with you about the glidelock bracelet but if you really want to you can always add one. Not cheap....but possible. I did. Last point - the LV does have somewhat more of a collectibility "cache" given that it now one of Rolex's more recent discontinued models. Others include the Exp II 16570 and the GMT Master II 16710. |

A maxi dial with the black bezel is like the best of both worlds If you already have both the green and black bezels, I'd say keep it.

I wouldn't, I need the date. I can see the upgrade on the bracelet and bezel, it also has a more solid feel but the Kermit is a classic. So if it is in very good condition keep it. I would trade it if the condition is under very good condition though.

Is this a serious question? Keep the LV...you are lucky to have one actually!
