A once in a while watch....
I have a watch that I only wear for special occasions. Is it alright to wind it up and wear it for a day then put it away.
Thanks....Tommy |

Sure. Why not?
What model is the watch?

Wow, a special watch for every occasion. Not sure it is right to just wind it up, wear it and then put it away - take it off at night, then put it back on the next day, and the next...

What a waste... WEAR IT EVERY DAY!
You never know when your time is up... I used to think like you until I got inexplicably sick for about 2 months, I genuinely thought my time was up. 2 doctors later and no one could tell me what it was even after just about every test there was, in the end it cleared up and they put it down to stress. I realised during that ordeal that if I did "go", I would have left behind a lovely watch that I never wore. Now? I wear it and enjoy it every day. But to answer your question, it's not bad to do that. Just make sure you do it every month or so to keep the oils flowing. |

It's the last week though and then I'm back until our trip to Singapore later this year. My wife has been in France for nearly a month already but unfortunately I can't be away too long (business will suffer) so I fly back and forward quite a bit. |

Similar to Daytona-Dan I had an life altering health scare a few years ago. Ended up selling my old Speedy and Sub to buy the watches I've always wanted and I wear them all the time !
Life's too short, after the kids, wife and dog nothing puts a smile on my face like my Rolex. Wear them in good health. |

I actually traded my two favorite pieces towards this one. I still have an Explorer and an Omega Seamaster for knocking around.

Tommy: If you need some help to ensure that GMT gets worn everyday I'd be more than happy to offer my services.

It will be fine, if you don't wear it for more than a month though I'd give it a full wind every 30 days or so just to keep everything lubricated. Fantastic looking GMT!

Tommy that it!...we've all ganged up on you and from tomorrow you will wear this watch at least 4 days a week and you are duly instructed to send in a wrist shot every day for the next 7 days or...we 'll be round!

What a beautiful watch! Give yourself permission to enjoy it: infinitely rebuildable and polishable.

I approve! But I wouldn't wear it as an "everyday" watch. 18K is far too soft for an everyday wear watch. I wear mine on weekends only ....depending on where I am going. It attracts alot of attention! Enjoy it!

It was made to be worn, so wear it! Not attracting attention is one thing but not wearing it because 18k is "too soft" is a load of rubbish. I wear mine every day without a problem. You only live once and you can't take it with you no matter how shiny it is when you die.

I wear mine quite often... too many watches for it to be everyday but I come back to it quite a lot more than some other pieces.
