Fifty Fathoms 2013 Basel

I love my Submariner, but is this one of the sexiest dive watches ever?

I love the matte dial and matte insert. Has anyone had the chance to eyeball this one yet..thoughts?

I'm torn. Part of me likes it a lot, and another part of me thinks it looks kind of cheap.

same here. I don't know why but to me it does look cheap too.
I would go for the more common 50 fathoms

Very Nice - I see the photo uses the same date/time display as Rolex!

Very nice watch, I think Blancpain has a talent for making elegant timepieces.

Me, I for the life of me cannot fathom the praise the new modern ones get. I would never be interested in any of them AT ALL. The vintage are excellent though, I admire them a lot.

I really like it, but it has received very little love on the internet foras. The only thing I don't like is the size, at 43 mm its too big for my liking. I don't understand why Blancpain reborn oversize all their divers. Its a nice touch that you can choose nato or sailcloth as well. I'll try it on when I get an opportunity for sure.

I like it a lot as well. Agreed with size.. wished it was a 40mm.
Would prefer the date at 3 o'clock.

Missed opportunity, AFAIAC.

I really dislike the rectangular hands - a deal killer for me. Why do you have 7 types of fonts on the interface? Date at 4:30 doesn't work either. And it should have been slightly smaller. To sum it up: FAIL

I do not care for the design or the giant empty moonscape of a dial

While I prefer the 'standard' or aqua lung versions of the FF, I certainly wouldn't shew this one away!

I like the FF line, but I find them somewhat expensive. Especially the classic version. Would like to own one one day, but is not in my top 5 at the moment. At that price I would rather get an AP or JLC Reverso.

I didn't realise it was 43mm. It looks as though it would wear large due to the large dial small bezel.

I too like the cleanliness of the matte dial, but the regular FF is still my preference.

would have to see it in person, but it looks very distinctive and imho an improvement over the previous versions as far as being a bit more subdued... the hands also look as though you will be able to read the time from across the room!

all that said, the plots are very similar to rolex which is always a bit of a turn off for me... rolex may not have invented the 8 dots with 3 or 4 rectangles to mark the hours, but to me there is only room for 1 brand to use that combo

Prefer the original FFs. Why did they go add Sinn U1's lego hands!!

I really like it.

It's a nice clean dial-easy to read.

I think it may also look bigger than it is due to the thinner bezel.

Thanks for sharing. It looks spectacular in the video. As far as high-end divers are concerned I think this is very interesting. A great vacation watch. For an actual dive watch back-up I think the Tudor Pelagos would be a great choice right now.

Nice attempt at paying tribute to one of their dive watches from the past however, in this case, Blancpain has swung and missed!!!!!
