That does look huge. The case is supposed to be 42.6 mm, but it looks bigger than that in the pic.

I also agree that it's not for me either. I like big watches so the size is fine with me but something about the layout on the dial just aesthetically doesn't work for me. I also don't like the big YACHT MASTER II on the bezel. Too each their own so given the choice, I would take the Sub every time. Oh and let's also not forget the YM II is priced at 3 times the SUB!

The 42.6 was pulled right out of Watch Time magazine. Thickness: 13.9 mm, weight: a massive 250 grams. How accurate their figures are I do not know.

250 grams wow that's a lot. That's 109 grams heavier than the GMT II C. The movement should be massive

The YM II still looks silly. What was that Alcan said? Something about strutting around on the docks when you want to talk the talk but can't walk the walk? Gimme the Sub any day, that huge thing must go well with a mullett...

And yes, the movement IS incredible. Why put it in a case that extroverted?

I guess it is a "tool" watch and needs to be highly visible and it is functional for the purpose it serves...but still...(IMO) It doesn't translate to everyday wear. Kind of like those sky-diving altitude devices.

A lot of people have made complaints about the direction the GMT IIc has taken as far as being too "bling," but to me the YM II is the watch that is too gaudy. I don't like the bezel or the dial, and it's huge for a Rolex. The irony is that it got a terrific review in WatchTime, and the new movement sounds great. It's just nothing I'd ever put on my wrist. And $31,500 for the gold version? No thanks.

Even if i liked it i could not buy it cause it's so expensive. I've seen one from close and trust me it doesn't suck that much from close. Still though it is an ugly watch but if you see it in person you sort of change your mind

It's a beautifully made piece, it's just not for me. Understated is the name of the game as far as I'm concerned, and the YM II would just draw too much attention. And, yes, it's way too expensive.

The best part of the original photo on this thread is we get to catch a comparative glimpse of what a Blue Sub bezel color might be if they put the ceramic bezels on the 16613/16618 successors. I am VERY CURIOUS to see what a "116613" will/would look like!
