Not (yet) a fan of Tudor, but...!
Have to say I am VERY impressed with the current gatefold ad for the Black Bay (the one with the red bezel)
Beautifully illustrated, and a bit of history too. Very well done. Come to it, I have always liked their version of the Daytona too. Hmm.... |

Like their website too.
No, not yet, mate. I am VERY happy with my current collection. Besides, if I was going to get another chrono, I would get a Speedmaster. Always wanted one. |

Ahhh, a man after my own heart, the Speedmaster was and still is on my original "one day" list, sapphire sandwich would do it for me...

Yea mine would either be a Speedmaster Moon (Reduced, Automatic) or a Speedmaster Date, in black dial of course.
As an attorney, I have to constantly sign and date stuff. My Breit doesn't have a date on it and it drives me nuts. Because of the whole NASA thing, I could get over it with the Moon edition, but... going back to the Black Bay, I like the antiquing (sp) on the dial, and the wave motif. I will definitely have to check one out. The Glamour Day Date is very nice looking, and I have to hand it to them in their "Rose" ladies edition: it's not going to be mistaken for anything else. Gutsy Methinks if they downplay the "jv" aspect of being a Rolex brand and instead market it as they have, and perhaps steer it to a younger crowd who may not want their Dad's Rolex (or let's face it, the image in certain crowds that Rolex has)....I think they are on to something. They are certainly able to stand on their own heritage and design. Clearly by advertising the Black Bay and the Heritage chrono on NATO straps, they are not afraid to project their products as able to take a pounding. Better marketing by far than I used to see of them in the USA. I am aware, esp from my time in Asia, that Tudor is held in very high esteem. I think they are smart to not square off their line with Big Brother. |

I think Tudor did very well with the Black Bay, methinks it's quite a classic.

Subjectivity aside, Tudor is on a marketing rampage that is working amazingly...

The price points in the second hand market make these a great value. Even paying new, MSRP the combined price of the Pelagos, BB and Black Shield are less than a Daytona. |

Started looking at them more seriously recently, but still can't tear myself away from the Rolex name. I must be brainwashed.

Slightly off topic, the BB does seem to be holding its value quite well on the used market at Chrono24. UK prices for used BBs there are significantly higher than Hong Kong BNIB AD prices, in a couple of cases.
