Drowning in Seattle....
I list my title somewhat jokingly, as we have been getting record amounts of rain lately....
Anyway, you can call me Alice. I live outside the Seattle area and had no idea there was a forum such as this... I sent my 80's model 18k/ss oyster perpetual off for servicing and should hear back by tomorrow with what it needs and how much they are charging... Am I the only nut that really misses her watch while they are working on it?? I was pretty attached to it! Can't wait to see how it looks when they finish though... If I had a second Rolex I wouldn't have such a problem.... Speaking of which, in a few months I will probably be looking for a second watch, this time with a champagne colored dial and diamonds.... |

Welcome Alice. I can empathize with having to be without a time piece. For some of us it is an absolute essential part of our character. I felt lost the few times I forgot to put mine on before leaving for work (only has happened a couple times in my life..normally due to running extremely behind schedule)
Might be time for you to pick up that second time piece. Maybe a sporty weekend watch :) |

You are certainly not the only nut. If I only had one, I couldn't even send it away...Throw up some pics when your piece gets back and after you get your new one. Look on the sale section here. You can always find great prices on womens pieces. Welcome Alice!

Thanks guys, I have been scoping out the for sale section ;) You have no idea how bummed I was watching them take my little box away at the post office!
I'll also be insuring my watches, I think I'll go with Perfect Circle.... As soon as Rolex sends me the replacement value of this one I'll complete the application and get that going.... I can't risk something happening to it! |
