DJII or 15400ST. Which 41mm?
Which 41mm watch is best. Give pros and cons. Not considering dial color. I am contemplating my next purchase and would like your thoughts. I have never owned either watch and have only tried on the DJII at my AD.
Thanks in advance for your feedback. Aaron |

I say AP over a DJII. The bracelet finish is awesome

I'm with the majority on this. Dial + bracelet all IMO better on the AP. If you didn't have any Rolex watches - the DJII might be a great first Rolex but branch out and I think you'll appreciate the subtleties of the AP. |

Presa canary...Quality of movement, fit, finish different league? Or something else? Would you elaborate more please. I know a little about Rolex and even less about AP. Thank you.

All of thee above archer. And the bracelet... The best in business. And don't get me wrong, I really like the djii. But if there was a choice between the two, it wouldn't take me long

I have to agree. Money aside, the 15400 is a better watch. Do try it on before buying if possible. It seems to fit everyone different, depending on the size and shape of the wrist, and wears a tad larger than 41mm to me.

Easy choice. 15400. I love my Rolexes but between the DJ and 15400, it's an easy choice.

Thanks y'all for the feedback. Keep it coming. Let me know as much as possible about the benefits of each.
Tom....thanks for the info on the fit. I plan to purchase from a trusted seller here and may have no way to try one on. I have a Sea Dweller, Exp II 42mm, Navitimer II and a few other lesser watches. They all fit well even though they are very different watches. Any thoughts on how a 15400ST may fit compared to any of these? Thanks. |

I'd try one on first before I threw down 10-12k.... I feel they wear true to size. Little smaller than your 216570. By the way, great collection you have already. The 15400 would fit in nicely

I recently tried on a 15400 and fell head-over-heels in love. Had I not just blown my budget on a Deepsea I likely would be wearing the AP right now. I've never handled something with such class that felt so "right".
Having said that, I really do like the look of the fluted bezel DJII. For < 1/2 the price I don't think you could go wrong, but if you buy the DJ because of the price and really want the AP, you'll likely regret it.

AP is one of the 3 high end swiss watch company, however between the two models that you asked, DJJ II looks nicer to me.

I have both and love both. If money is no object, the 15400 is a very nice watch with exquisite finish work and a truly artistic movement. The DJII is nice because I never have to worry about it. It wears tough as nails and feels a little more rugged. That is a tough choice. If I could only keep one...probably AP by a hair:)

I have both the DJ2 and the 15400. Normally, I will prefer AP. But nowadays, the DJ2 wins the battle for my wrist everytime. It's just more comfortable, and in some ways nicer to me even if the 15400 technically have better finishing.

it really comes down to the dial choice. strong arguments can be made for both watches.

I would pick the DJII every time because I am a Rolex man. The AP might be a better watch but the DJII looks better and is cheaper.

Tapisserie dial on AP is exquisite, esp the silver is incredibly refractive, bracelet is superior and it has an open caseback with a gorgeous gold rotor.
