Icon20 Show your see through case backs!

Too bad that our beloved Rolex watches does not have a see through case back showing that wonderful workhorse movement. However, there are mods out there that shows the movement.

This threat is all about movement backs. Show your case backs! Patek, Lang and Glashutte IMHO have gorgeous movements seen through case backs. Post some pics and lets enjoy!

There are a lot of threads on the Forum where the finish of Rolex movements have been played down.

I think the finish deserves to be played up.

Exhibition caseback on my Ball Lady Conductor. A nice little feature on a moderately priced watch. (Well, moderate compared to Rolex.)

I loooove this watch.... more than I imagined.

Tritium tube lume... in three colors. Heavenly!

You guys made me take my watch off and take a terrible camera phone shot of it.

This was originally sold with the solid back but I bought the factory sapphire see through back for it. Not bad looking for a movement that was never intended to be displayed.

Lisa, I LOVE that watch, how about a lume shot?

Edit, never mind I got a look on the website. That's amazing! Any idea how long those tubes last until they have to be repalced?

Hey, Tim - thanks. I wear it more than my DJs!

From the Ball website:

"Our 3H micro gas lights glow up to 100 times brighter than luminous paints for up to 25 years."

If memory serves, I think I've read from other sources that it has a half-life similar to luminova - about 12 years. What i especially like about it is it needs no light source to charge. It glows 24-7.

Did you look at all the lovely offerings on the website? You can toggle from "daytime" to "nighttime" on all of the models to see the tritium patterns. So many very cool models - I especially like the diver watches. You can get a heck of a watch for the money.

Thanks Lisa, that's exactly what I did, that's amazing. We had "night" sights on our things that go bang bang (keeping with the TRF rules here) at work and they were good for about 6 years so I assumed that the lume capsules on the Ball watches would have been the same. 25 Years, that's really sweet! Great looking collections on that site. Now I have one more watch in the back of my head for someday!!
