WG Sub if you plan to wear it regularly ... Patek if it's a part of a good rotation of watches. I find that my dad's Patek is just not as solid as my Rolex. For him, it is a watch that he wears 1 or 2 times a month, his daily watch is a G-Shock as his businesses are not in great neighborhoods ...

5712 for me, for Rolex I prefer the YG GMTc or RG Daytona.

If I were looking for a sports watch, then Sub-C. If I were looking for a sporty elegant watch, then Nautilus (or AP Royal Oak) all the way. Although I'd much rather pick the 5711, 5726 or 5980, on the basis that I prefer symmetry :)

The Sub is clearly the sportier of the two, and the 5712 will dress up nicer.
Depends on your lifestyle and what other watches you might have. I love the WG Sub, but in this choice I would get the 5712 and add a SS Sub for back up. Win / win. |

WG Sub I'm not a fan of the unbalanced dial on the 5712.
