RSC vs Rikki
I need to service one of my Rolexes. I'm contemplating sending it to RSC, Rikki, or some other watchmaker who is recommend by the seniors on this forum. I'm not necessarily looking for a bang per buck, but the most professional service.
Also, out of the 3 RSC's here in the States, which one is most recommend? (NY vs LA vs Dallas) How much does Rikki charge for a complete overhaul? and what is his contact info? Thanks much guys |

$350 for a sapphire crystal overhaul and here is the link. No contest here, I would go with Rikki every time!!! Quicker turnaround, better price and IMHO better service.

There is no contest. Rikki is THE only way to go if you value quality workmanship and having your watch returned without any assembly line carelessness.

The RSC in Beverly Hills is walk-in only, so unless you're visiting LA cross this one off the list. They do perform good service and stay quite busy (at least during the times I have needed their service) with the locals in Cali. The price for a Submariner service was $600, which included a new mainspring, complete disassembly & cleaning, examination for worn parts, lube & reassembly, COSC timing, pressure test, case polish, and band refurb (all the normal stuff during a service). Turnaround time for me was two and a half weeks.

My Dad has used Rikki 3 times and recommended friends too. Everyone has been very happy with the results.

We have several top-quality watchmakers on TRF that work to CW-21 criteria and I wouldn't hesitate using any one of them..
Rikki in FLA Bob Ridley in TX Vanessa in Newport Beach Ca That pretty much covers the US for close-by shipping..

It depends on what you want. Planning to sell your watch? RSC. Want good care taken of a prized watch? Rik. Need to restore a beaten up vintage? Bob.
Personally I split my stuff between Rik and Dallas RSC depending on what I want. Couldn't be happier with the resources available to us on TRF! |

Indeed but I don't think (could be wrong) his warranty transfers when selling the watch? In any case, Rik's well loved here but I sell on other boards as well.

Rikki will get my sub when I need it serviced for sure. Better price, quality service, and I'll get to support a member. No brainer.

Mike really nailed the response IMO. Rik worked on one of my Rolex a few months ago and I can highly recommend his work.

Rik did the service on 1 of my watches and I was happy with the price and dealing with him was good too. I trust him which factors into my vote.

Dallas RSC has never done me wrong. Just make sure the acct. exec. you work with knows exactly what you want done.

If I was keeping it I'd go with an independent. If selling, I'd send it myself (not through an AD) to Dallas RCS.

You get to talk to RCS directly about what you want done to the watch. If an AD sends it, RCS will only talk to the AD.

Rik just serviced my 17 year old Sub. UPS will deliver it on Monday morning. He is a perfect gentleman to deal with, loves what he does and since he does everything himself his skill sets are much more rounded. Sending your watch to RSC and many people work on your watch and it doesn't get examined by a watchmaker until the final timing process. I will never use RSC again if I can help it.
