Rolex 1601 roman dial?
Hi all,
Does anyone own vintage Rolex 1601 with roman dial? I search the whole forum with the key word but can't find this special big roman dial. I heard it's printed roman word instead of pie pan. Can you share the picture? Appreciate. Not sure if this roman dial is special enough, but RSC said the rare color like red, brown and Tiffany-blue which is also special but only sold in Japan. Don't know why??! Thanks Robert |

No offense but that dial looks fake. The fonts seem atypical. OP google or search for Buckley dial. That's what I believe you're referencing

that is not a 1601

That is a typical white buckley dial for 16030/16013 etc ... To the OP: You probably saw a less seen silver/rhodium buckley dial, which at certain angle appears to be white, and silver/purple at others. I'll see if I can get a picture. |

Hi All,
I Google some 1601 pictures with big roman dial, it comes with blade index which is totally stunning to me. My rolex service centre (RSC) told me that they have service dial like this one, but not sure if anyone willing to replace the old silver vintage dial to this service dial. may I have your comment? thanks! Uh in the first pic from foxy1 it's not typical...look at the font for "Rolex" and "datejust" all the text is clearly wrong. The other two Buckley dial examples look correct. One of my best friends has a Buckley dial as it was given to him by his deceased father. I studied that watch for a good 7 years before I got my first Rolex. |

So what's the verdict? The font in Foxy's first pic clearly looks different than the rest. So is that one good and the other a service dial, or is Foxy's first not good?

I actually was asking Mr Buckley himself a question today from another group. Should have sent him a pic
