socalwatchcollector / John: Tutima Flieger gold plated
Hi all,
I joined this forum after falling for this watch that John had for sale http://www.rolexforums.com/showthrea...ghlight=tutima I took longer to commit than I should have (he didn't know that at the time thankfully, as I at least had the good sense to just look and think rather than contact/bother him) I saw the original post via watchrecon.com I was searching for vintage looking Hanhart's and Tutima's after stumbling across a ww2 one for sale in not quite working condition with a missing bezel. I immediately fell in love with the style of them, when I found out about both manufacturers making them again and with automatic movements I was sold, being based in Australia it's very hard to find such beauties in person/available locally or sellers willing to ship here, I've seen many an advert with the words, CONUS only etc. on WatchesUSeek. The gold plating put me off at first, as I was really after a plane SS watch, however a lot of the originals were nickel-plated brass, but I talked myself around to liking it, then I became scared that it would have been snapped up, searching for these over the time I spent in various places this looked like a bargain, and a unique one to boot.. luckily for me it was still available, not just that, John's been amazing, many an email exchanged, question answered, suggestion given, postage cost far more than I think either of us expected, he shipped it Fed-Ex it arrived in two days and cost him a fortune, I paid an extra $50 when we agreed to do the deal to help with PayPal fees and postage, I had no idea it would cost as much as it did though, am very grateful to this fine seller and have asked him to allow me to join his friends list on here! do not hesitate to buy from this man! I did (not cause of him but the colour of the watch) and I could have missed out :-D |
