6542 GMT Serious dial questions

6542 GMT questions...First, my apologies, I do not have photos to share...I examined a 6542 GMT with an obviously replaced pepsi insert and a dial that appeared to be silver painted, definitely not white and not gilt (case and works are correct)...Having never seen silver on a GMT dial I assume it's someone's bad idea of an old replacement, but I have to ask...Was there ever silver used in 1958-1960s era? Thanks. Ed

Thanks, I assumed it would be a later dial (watch is 1958) if original, but the paint is actually silver...Of all the GMTs I've seen and owned I have only seen white or gilt...The lume is a light green, the photo's flash washed it out too bright...The bezel, if original, is obviously later.

My question is, if this dial is original, but service, and the watch case and movement is correct how strongly does that affect value? I know a period dial is tough to find and expensive...
