My wife has a lady president and the bracelet needs to be re-pinned..I live in Georgia and would like to find someone in or near Atlanta that could repair it.

Bracelet repair is a dying art. If you live near a post office, you're as close to Michael Young as any other repair shop.

Thanks for all the prompt replys. I have been informed that there are 2 places in the Atlanta area. They are Charlie Shi in Doraville and Wilson Watch Co. In Lawerenceville. Has anyone had any experience with either of these? 1dzirkalis

Michael Young is the only play here.. Never heard of these other guys and I did a TON of research, before I sent mine to Hong Kong.... Got it back and it was perfect.

There are basically two options. If you feel uncomfortable w Michael young...
Try abc in California. No one remotely close to you is qualified to perform the Work you need, nor should you "give someone a chance" ... |

Unfortunately, ABC doesn't do bracelet stretch repair. Seems Mr. Young is the only option!

B. Gray
Quote:
Just like you seem to be doing, I found B Gray and their website before sending my bracelet off to Hong Kong, thinking that Florida was a whole lot more convenient than China. I called B Gray and started asking questions about their work. They were somewhat sketchy and by the end of the conversation, I was pretty convinced they just send the bracelets off to Michael Young and mark up the price from what he charges them. In the past 7 years, B Gray's website pages concerning bracelet repairs haven't changed a bit...no updates. In fact, I'd say they haven't even sold a bracelet from their page...or maybe they just don't update the page hoping that a call can be accommodated with a switch to an in stock piece. Even Michael Young has updated his website in the past 7 years. |

Not going to work there either.
Give my buddy Patrick a call at Excel Time, but he's likely to reiterate what we've tried to tell you. He may even naively suggest a bracelet replacement. |

To add to what others have said; see the thread below on Michael Young's repairs. It's pretty interesting.

I just received my badly stretched circa 1973 president bracelet from Michael Young in Hong Kong. All I can say is WOW!!!! For $1100 (USD) Michael restored my bracelet to "as new" condition!
Service, turnaround and superb workmanship combine to make MBTECHDESIGN the place to go for bracelet restoration. I could not be happier with the great value of the work Michael performed! |

Classic Watch Repair recommendation
Agreed. 1dzirkalis, I hope you got in touch with Michael Young ([email protected]) and all worked out well.
My 1993 Datejust 16220's stainless jubilee bracelet stretched due to an "over-springy" watch winder. Mr. Young did a great job on the repair, and even express-shipped it back so I had it in time for wedding travel: $182 total. Looks and fits perfect now, three "adjustment holes" tighter than before. A great service. |
