This is my Antique vault

Not so long ago I bought an antique vault on the internet. It was not as good as promised so two options, scrap it or restore it. I thought i give it a try.
On youtube I found some video's on how to paint a faux mahogany.
I am quite pleased with the result and now I use it to lock up my watches.
Pretty safe I guess, and I don't have to go to the bank if I want to wear another watch.

Very nice, but would love to see close ups of what you keep in it!

Thanks for your nice compliments. It took quite some time in making the complicated lock work smooth again, enjoyed working on it.
The Mrs didn't want it in the living room so I had to move it to the 2nd floor. Rented an elevator used in construction for it and with 4 guys we were able to get it in the bedroom.
There are no vintage watches in it; an older Day date 18238, my favourite Yacht master, lady Date, lady Yacht master and my GMTc TT.
There is still space left and I am in the process of convincing the Mrs that I need a DSSD. This may take some time. Perseverance will pay off eventually

That's very cool. I collect safes and vaults. I have several that are 125 years old, and a vault door from the 1870s. It looks Spanish or English for sure. Good job on the restoration
