GMT Basel 2015 PREDICTION!

So, I was cruising around the forums and saw the vintage Rolex GMT coke with white dial. I believe they chose these colors for Pan-Am, but I could be wrong. However this would absolutely be awesome and it makes since. The GMT does not have a white dial in the line up, on top of that there have been rumors regarding a ceramic coke. I predict this will be the next GMT added to the line come next basel or basels to come.

Would love to hear some feedback.

As it will be the centenary year of The Rolex Watch Co. (trading under that name rather than W&D) you can probably expect something green and super expensive.

Blue black red all in one for tri time zone called avengers

And then a brown and red one called iron man

But seriously, I do hope they bring back the black and red, I liked it better than the blue and red bezel

Ha! If they release a white faced coke (no pun intended lol) they would essentially be slapping blnr owners in the face. I would not foresee any more SS gmts in the near future.

Well as much as I love the people at rolex

Its just business, can't agree if the blnr starts to slow down releasing another anticipated and loved historic bezel or dial is a smart move on their end

It'll keep their sales to continue rising and at this point and age. All business needs improvement with their sales figure

But yes it would be a slap in the face to the buyers eight now but companies have been known to do this over and over

Sorry can't agree. IMHO, the BLNR was a great success because it was something different than what came before it, and not just a ceramic version of something old. It stands strongly on its own, and I don't think another ceramic GMT is a slap on it at all. Just my two cents (and I am NOT a BLNR owner).

A bit much I suppose.

What I meant was that, while I envy and hope to add a blnr, the release of a coke with a white dial would likely cut the value on existing pre owned blnrs by 500-1k IMHO.

Since when does the release of new Rolex models cause the price of others to fall? I mean, that'd be neat-o but it just doesn't happen. Did the release of the 116610LV cause the price of 116610LN to drop by a grand?

Maybe you are correct, I'm certainly no Rolex scholar

I was maybe exhibiting a projection bias. If rolex announces a coke white dial gmt, I'm buying that over the blnr and I think others may do similar. In that case the blnr will more rapidly drop to a normal discount on SS Rolex, 12% give or take. Right now new ones are only selling for 2-300 off on trf.

This is all hogwash anyways, I'll eat my shoe if Rolex introduces this watch or any gmt in SS at Basel 2015.

I love the blnr

How does that hurt Rolex when they are selling a new watch? Also Im not a modern buyer but do guys/gals really think or expect no new models will come out that might increase or decrease the value of their previous purchase?

Indeed. The blnr is the most beautiful GMT Rolex has ever produced.

It might happen, but if it does the 2014 release of the 116719 strongly suggests it will be in Pt.

If so, what then might the bezel color combination be?

If it's Coke, then there might be groan heard round the world emanating from the WIS community worldwide.

I think Root Beer might be tolerable, but Coke would probably cause mass cases of myocardial infarction or atrial fibrillation and in some cultures, public self-flagellation.

I think it will either be Sub or Daytona related. I would not bank on anything GMT related at all!!

My best guess would be a new Serti dial for the Sub. For the Daytona maybe a third dial choice for the SS version.

I think any more would be dreaming.

If anything it would compete with the Polar EXP II. I don't see price cuts though.

I would love to see something different besides color changes to bezels, dials or materials used. I love my GMT II, but, if Rolex introduced a GMT with day and date, well, I know what my next purchase would be. Even a Daytona with a date function would be a nice surprise.
