Value of your wife's opinion when choosing a watch?

Am I alone in that I place a high level of weight in the opinion of my wife during the decision making process when purchasing a certain model, color, variation of a new watch? I usually take my wife with me and am usually turned off even if I kind of like one that she isnt crazy about. She supports the habit so it isnt an approval thing, I just like it better knowing she likes it. The good news is she LOVES my Daytona but strangely she is not fond of my 116610LV (bought that one without her there) The 215670 (Black) is a different story. In fact, other than my Black SS Daytona, she said the Black Expl II was her favorite Rolex model in the store by a long shot, and they had a large collection. I wasnt there to buy it or even look at Expl IIs but decided to get one after she raved (through trusted TRF seller takuya).

Never once followed the advice of my Wife in selecting a watch. She's a lovely lady, but doesn't know watches at all.

Talked me off my lv a few times - I have flipped and re-bought the Lvc 4 times

Now I realise I am keeping it for me, don't care who doesn't like it

Well I do take my wife's opinion into account, but have bought watches that she didn't like, for example the BLNR, she hates the large numbers on the bezel...

Funny, my GF also dislikes the bezel of the BLNR... I decided to get an Omega SPEEDMASTER for now. I love it and I had been interested in this model forever. In the end, if I really like something, I would get it anyway...

HAHAA. Nice. Well I guess since my wife is ok with the purchase itself I like to get her opinion on the look. It is not a deal breaker but can turn me off at times. I guess I just like it more when she likes it.

My wife just gives me that "look" although she does wears a ladies DJ and absolutely loves it.

This is my whole point! I am not speaking of "permission" here, just value her style opinion and honestly she is a big fan of a good looking watch...although we dont always agree with that is, but we mostly do.

This is an interesting question as I have thought about this a lot in the past, based on how I act myself, when my girlfriend is with me when I buy something.

I ALWAYS ask her opinion, but if I really like the item I will buy it regardless of what she says, particularly with shoes. For clothes, I will listen to her opinion more though.
When I bought my White Dial ExpII she preferred it over the black dial, so we were in agreement there. When I bought my BLNR she supported me and in the store was saying it was nice and looked good on me etc, however, a few weeks later, at dinner, she said to me "you know I didn't like that watch when you bought it, but I actually think it looks very good on you now". She probably saw how much I liked it in the store and agreed with me regardless of what she thought herself.
She was recently with me when I viewed an Sub LVc and she didn't like it. I would buy it regardless.

My wife loved the LV, hated the BLNR and felt the Sea Dweller looked like any other typical sports watch so I don't put a lot of weight into her opinion anymore lol

She got nervous about the surprise gift and asked me to go on the website and pick one if I could have anyone I liked. After a few days of pondering I really had a thing for a 14060M, same one she picked before asking me (low key person here) Have two perfect things here, Wife and watch........

Nice! Doesnt get any better. Watch would mean much less from that company than your lovely wife!

My wife loves the Panerai Radiomir. I do not prefer Panerai, and the Radiomir least of all.
She has liked some of my watches, and thought others were unattractive. I never ask her opinion. She doesn't care about most of my watches. But I keep the household funds out of the watch picture so she doesn't care that I buy them.

I always show my wife a picture of the incoming, she always says it's terrible. When she sees the look on my face when I am wearing it she changes her opinion and loves how it makes me feel.
