UK dealer names needed for GMT II hunt!
Hi,
I am keen on getting hold of a new GMT II here in the UK but they are very hard to find now. I located 2 but by the time I had telephoned the relevant dealer one had just been sold and the other had been sent back to Rolex for something to do with the renewing of the warranty. It will not be back for weeks. Do you have the names and telephone numbers of some of the smaller dealers in the UK that might have a GMT II in stock. I have already tried Rolex in Bond St, London and the Ernest Jones network. Thanks for your help, PeterT |

Peter,
Try Watches.co.uk over in Chiswick, West London. They've got plenty of stock or you could try watchfinder.co.uk who are based in Maidstone. I bought a secondhand SS Daytona from them for a very reasonable £5300 and they personally delivered the watch to my office in London, so I'd recommend them too. Also try Johnny Marr (advertises on ebay but has a jewellers in Blackburn I think) or secondtimearound, who are also based near Bond St. Depends also whether you want new or are happy to get one second hand. Finally there are 4 Rolex specialists in Burlington Arcade, such as Dave Duggan - they sell GMTIIs with the new ceramic dial. All these dealers can be found easily with Google btw.. Hope this helps and good hunting. Richard |

Hi Richard and thank you for your reply.
I had a Rolex watch hunting day in London last weekend and so visited places like the Burlington Arcade. I tried to see 2nd time around but they were shut due to Easter! I came across one rip off establishment at the top of Bond St who had an unworn GMT II but had added £1000 to the retail price because it was a discontinued model. I left the shop pretty quickly!! I am probably looking for a dealer in an area of the UK that is less busy than London who may still have unused GMT II stock. Any more ideas?? Cheers, PeterT |

There is a dealer in Windsor who had one in stock yesterday when I was shopping also if you want one my AD can get one but you will have to wait approx. one month tops.
Watchs.co.uk, I would not buy anything from them, I have found them very disappointing to use. I have had a bad experience there. Watchfinder I used to buy my plat YM and they were really good. But teh best by far was dream watches uk down in gosport. The owner is an absolute gent and has gone out of his was to be helpful. When selling and buying pieces of him. It is where I got my GMTIIC from also he has a brand new one in stock now. Sorry, just read you are after one give Fraser Hart in Brent cross a call the manager there is fantastic and will gladly help you to source one out. Also whatever he says you can trust him. I have purchased my wife's watches and my WG daytonas from him. |

Thanks for the info Simon,
I was about to buy from dream watches and clicked onto a Coke GMT II that they were selling to discover it had just been sold! Is the dealer in Windsor called Ruffs? Would you be able to give me the name of your dealer so that I could give them a call? Cheers, Peter |

I will PM you details of the AD I use. If you actually leave message with dream watches he will get back to you. Off all the grey dealers I have used in the Uk, I have used a fair few, I have found him to be the most honest and helping.

Very interesting thread, I am also looking for a 16710, preferebly used, and some of those names can be very helpful, as I prefer Europe sellers in order to avoid customs...
Good luck with your search Carlos |
