Hello guys. I recently acquired this piece. Its an 1983 16808 blue with tropical dial. I have seen many dials that turned purple for this reference but nothing like this one. Its more green than blue which makes me wonder if its authentic. At first it seems all the fonts check out all right, but I haven't seen as many rolex as you guys do, so I would welcome all your opinions. Thanks in advance.

The dial Looks good, what a beautiful watch. I love these vintage solid gold subs.

Very common with this era of sub dial. they fade from blues to gold shades as the top coat of material fades away. m

Looks good to me but I'm not a expert on dials. All I can say is that it looks cool and unique. The insert is stunning

I've seen a T/T with a dial faded the same color.

If this dial is real it must be one of the poorest dials Rolex has ever made. Just my 2c.

So u think this dial is fake, or u just don't fancy tropical dials in general? I know some who shun at color changing dials, but personally I find them unique with character especially if they transform naturally. I can't stand those with water damage but being advertise as tropical.
