First new clubs since 1978!
Hey all you golf ears out there,
Well after receiving my first set of golf golfs for my graduation back in 1978, I finally purchased my first set of golf clubs. WOW what a difference! my old set were Sounders! Catch phrase matched in motion. Used to look at my friends with these giant Big Bertha Drivers that dwarfed my driver plus almost 3x I used the just think my goodness you really need that giant fly swatted to hit the ball! Anyway purchased a set of Callaway X2 irons with the Big Bertha Alpha driver and woods and WOW what a difference 37 yrs. makes for clubs! Love them and having a great time waking the ball now! Yes I still have a slice however not as bad, but I really do not care. Plus the Prince course up here in Princeville does not care if you slice or hook it still will take your ball if even just a few yards out of bounds! Dam cat's paw weeds!!!! Have a great day and hit them straight! Ya right!!! From Kauai! Tom |

Congrats what a difference in technology from 1978. You hung on to the old probably forged blades a good long time. Enjoy the new stuff.
I was an avid player however I know believe more than ever in what Mark twain said Golf is a good walk spoiled. Hbo real sports had a recent segment on the current state of golf and the numbers of courses closing, people leaving the game and how young people have no interest. The remedy for the game is 24" cups an idea that jack Nicklaus was like egh why not. My suggestion would be to pave the sand traps .... |

Upgrading from 1978 is like the Wright brothers to the Concord.... seriously, what took so long.

I have an old set of Callaway X20s and Big Bertha drivers, most notably the 460. Absolutely love them. One day, when I get better, I'll sell them and buy a new set.
