Incoming!.......but.......
So I just got a GMTIIc in today! It's a 116710LN. I was extremely excited all day, and had trouble listening to patients while I thought out it sitting at home!! Everything looked good on initial presentation, but I noticed the crown does not screw down to the point where the crown points "up." It stops about 90 degrees along the horizontal plane, rather. My guess, it was opened up, and while putting the crown back, the direction was not placed correctly. I purchased it from a seller here, it is like knew, with an open warranty. What do you guys think I should do?

The watch is normal. Only a small percent lines up, mostly on the Rolex website. Remember to only tighten until it stops. Do not crank it down!
Congratulations! |

Only exception is sky dwellers, in which crowns always line up by design. Rolex has a recent patent on this.
Congrats on your new acquisition. Please post some pics for us |

You'll find countless threads on the "crown alignment" topic if you do a quick search..
Perfectly normal. Enjoy the new watch!

Great to know you are happy some have taken their watch back assuming it is wrong looking at my DD now it points at about 35 degrees from vertical, you will NEVER notice it.

I have 2 pieces, an ExpII where the crown points to 10 o'clock and my GMT BLNR where it points directly up to 12 o'clock. When I bought the GMT I didn't check for this so it is only luck that I have it. I wouldn't worry about it
