Buying a Rolex at an AD in Mexico
Anyone know the Mexican retail on a 114060 - Sub No Date? I am visiting in a few weeks and might purchase while down there.
Many thanks. |

If you have a chance to visit Cancun or Los Cabos, do not miss Ultrajewels. They have a great inventory and very good prices. In addition, if you fly form either places directly to an airport outside of Mexico, ask for your VAT return which is 16%.
Those will probably be some of the best prices you can get from an AD |

Watches are there ( in the back) They require “profile” submission and bundling There is 0 chance a new customer will get a professional piece without bundling Few yeaes ago they got caught selling to a grey 40+ watches ( that person got stopped at customs) so they are in the dog house They have really nice selection of other brands so That may help with bundling condition But asking for professional Rolex watch with no bundling at Ultrajewels at the moment ( please dont bring up the ancient past) you will only be wasting your time Best shot is Berger Rolex boutique in Polanco Mexico City Good luck PS.. VAT return is not 16% but 8.9%. TaxFree company thar processes refunds takes the difference. Dont use other company called Moneyback.. fraud |

I agree with Jose. Ultrajewels has an amazing inventory and great prices. I've bought several watches from them.

I'm heading to Puerto Vallarta, just trying to get some idea of cost in Mexico. Emailed one of the AD's down there but had no response.

There is a watch retailer there but they don't carry Rolex. It's at the northern end of the boardwalk, the side furthest from the Romantic Zone. I think they have PP, AP, IWC, and a few others. I didn't go in, which surprised my wife... |

Got a deep sea at UltraJewels
I just got a DeepSea 126660 at UltraJewels. And my brother got a Milgauss. Wish us luck with the Mexican tax refund 😄. But my sales person didn't really handle the watches like I expected them to in the states. No gloves 😭

I do not know any AD at Puerto Vallarta. However, I feel that you should get a very competitive price if you do the VAT return (16%). Otherwise, it will be very expensive. Good luck and post some pics

So is it really worth the hassle?
What is the bottom line USD savings over just buying in the US or from a TRF dealer BNIB? |

Last month I was quoted around $8,900 USD for a 116710 BLNR at Ultrajewels in Cancun. If you then get VAT back (aprox $1,225 USD) the total price would be around $7,675 USD

The way I did it in Europe when I bought my Breitling is I paid the VAT at the store then when I was flying out I filled out the form and my receipt and they cut me a check on the spot for it

I understand how it works in the EU but I was asking about Mexico. I just don't know anyone who has gone through the process down there.

Right, the retailer will have a relationship with a certain VAT refund facilitator who has a kiosk at the airport. Some give funds on the spot at the airport while others refund your credit card. The refund company will keep a few percentage points as their fee so you will not get the entire VAT back. Not sure about Mexico, but in the EU, you have to get the goods inspected and receive a slip of papers from an official (also at the airport) as a first step before you go to the VAT refund kiosk.

Mexico prices are US MSRP + 16% VAT.
You can get a discount if you have a relationship with the AD, not that easy as a walk-in, but it can happen depending on the store and model.

Actually in Mexico it's a common practice (I'm not sure it it's the law) that the prices they display already have the 16% VAT. The price you see, has the VAT already included.

Just bought sub date 116610LN at Ultra Jewels in Playa de Carmen, Mexico. Out the door price was $580 less than in the states. They also "guarantee" an additional 9% back from the VAT tax. The AD handled all the paperwork for warranty and also for "Tax Back" process. We shall see if that happens, however, both the AD and the Tax Return company have reached out to me via email. The service was top notch. They even serve drinks while shopping. They also hailed a cab for me. I wore the watch home and gave the box to another traveler. No problems. All said and done with the tax return, the price was around 1300 less. Hope this helps.

Bought a DJ in 2012 and the new Daytona in 2016 from UJ in Cabo-- received VAT about 8 weeks later. No problems either time!
