My day trip to RSC St James (UK)

Off I set to pop my poorly 116600 down RSC St James, would of turned it into a day out but as daughter still only 7 weeks old we decided I'll just take the round trip to get the watch sorted.

So I thought this thread will keep me busy during my trip

Even though I'm taking the SD as its way to big for my wrist I still needed a companion so my Daytona came along for the ride

Well I'm already on the train home! Great service by the nice guy at St James

A watchmaker came straight out and had a quick look and did agree it looks pretty jammed, off he went and within 20mins he returned with it all completed. He did say they had a special tool to locally heat the screw/link and release the screw. They replaced the screw as I had slightly rounded the head FOC a nice little touch which I guess they always do he returned the watch wound and time set.

Only down side was I had damaged the screw head of my Rolex SD screwdriver which he said they don't sell the heads for only the complete tool however without showing him a SD which the tool kit would of came with he couldn't sell me another

But that's minor as I'm over the moon with my new 116600 on my wrist, and I was having feeling of seller remorse letting my 114060 go but must say this SD does for me sit better on my wrist and I prefer the lug to bracelet profile. But I am thinking a 114060 maybe an ideal nato watch.

Nice Rolex decor, I didn't take a pic but they had a watch magazine on the table which clearly advertised the Rolex DSSD clearance diver edition RRP £18,000 thought this one was a hoax?

Yep! My wife did look at me funny when I said I needed to take both for the journey.
