IPhone 6 Vs. 5S

Other than the 0.7mm greater size, what advantages does the 6 have?

none, unless you like the larger screen. I bought a 64gb 5S when the 6 came out. Doesn't look as nice as the 5 or even the 4. Looks like a POS Android phone now.

I'm still running the 5 and it works fine for me. My sister and BIL both got the 6. I didn't see much size difference overall, although the screen on the 6 does seem to be a bit larger. I may go with a 6 when my upgrade time comes around at the end of February. Not sure yet.

I personally think that the 6 is too large, I've used the 5S for some time and compared it to a 6 of a friend of mine and I think Apple didn't improve their flagship this time.

Prefer the 5S over either 6.

Camera quality seems much better on my 6 than old 5s. If you "one-hand" a lot it takes some getting used to unless you've got bigger hands.

Having had all iterations, I'd say the 6 is a better looking and better performing phone but the size takes a little getting used. The jump in performance isn't as big as when apple went from the 3s to 4 but its close.

Apple claims that the A8 processor is 25% faster performance and up to 50% faster graphics compared to the A7

Bigger screens are called Ipads. I already have one of those.

Imho, the 5/5s platform is the best phone Apple has made yet. I'll pass on the 6, and buy a refurb 5s when the time comes. Sorry, NOT going bigger. I'll go back to a flip-phone first.

I have and love my iPhone 6. It's a great phone with the right screen size - 4.7"

Here's a comparison of the 6 vs 5S http://www.macworld.co.uk/review/iph...rence-3505734/

Straight out the box, I used my iPhone 6 for about 18 hours, before I had to send it back for a warranty claim.

What was wrong? Plenty! Camera took 5 mins to boot up, and when it did load, refused to take pictures. Contacts would not sync properly to the phone despite many attempts at restore. Wifi was completely disabled, a full restore would re-enable wifi... for about 15 mins. Apps kept crashing. Thinking an iOS update would fix things, I updated the firmware, and the rest as they say... is history.

Because I would never be able to turn the phone back on ever again. It would slip into a continuous reboot every single time.

I've been waiting 3 weeks now for an iPhone replacement from my carrier (I'm in Malaysia). Apparently, there is no available stock for a 128GB iPhone 6.

Still have the 5S but my wife has the 6 and I have to admit I think the 6 looks a lot nicer and way more sleek looking.

Debating if it's worth a 2 yr contract or waiting 8 months to own the 5S and maybe the 6S with some significant feature(s)?

The 6 is thinner, runs on a faster chip, has a superior camera, and has a better form factor. It is also set up for Apple Pay, which I used for the first time yesterday at Nordstrom. Wow, so cool. Once it catches on, credit cards will seem as silly as the dial phone. Also, the way the glass curves into the edge makes a subtle but distinct feeling when swiping across the phone.

I got the 6plus and for the first week, I thought I had made a huge error. It just seemed too big. But somewhere between Day 7 and 8, I stopped noticing. Now, i would never go back. And I've since picked up a 5s and wondered aloud how I got by on it.

I like your list of advantages.
My wife has the 6+, and seems too large to put in jeans or other relatively tight pants. Once seated, the + is a pleasure with the larger landscape.
If I carried a pocket book, it would be a no brainier.

I've had most iPhones over the years. I think the 6 is the best one yet. I have noticed that I use it with two hands more than my 5, but that's ok. I feel that everything is an improvement over previous models.

I've had the 5, 5S, and 6...personally, the 6 has been awesome. Took about a week to get used to the bigger screen, but now can't go back.

The iPhone 5 vs 6 is bigger difference a than the 5S.

While there are tech advances - the key advantage to me has been Apple Pay. Using it several times while holiday shopping and works great.

Apple anticipated a need and with more retailers losing their customers data - I think it is a great solution.

Those stores who are going their own way will miss some sales as people choose to shop where their fingerprint on the home button is the "pay" button.

Sony Xperia Z3 Compact

On a side note here, I took my original 5S in for repair (screen would separate and make popping sounds when pressed) and they gave me a new one instead of repairing it after I took it in twice to demonstrate the problem. I've never been so irritated with Apple. I previously had 7.0.4 and was awesome. Lasted 4/5 days easy. The new one has 7.1.2 and it burns right through the battery even in airplance mode. Basically it lasts half of the previous phone. Yes, I did all the usual fixes. Oh, by the way, not only this, but 7.1.2 sucks also. Apple toned the colors down and increased font size in notification center and I've already encountered some bugs. If I had known all these things before hand I would have declined the new phone and requested the repair. Which leads me to...

I've had my eye on the new Sony Xperia Z3 Compact. Well, this iphone bullsh*t has pushed me to visit a Sony Store (no carrier stocks the compact Z3) and let me tell you this phone is badass. It's only slightly wider than a 5S and has a 4.6" screen. It has all the hardware/features of the full-size Z3, but smashed in a smaller footprint. Now I'm seriously thinking of dumping the 5S for this thing. I don't like Android, but there are apps you can install that transform items into OS 7 style.

It's at least worth looking at if you like small high-end phones.

I too abandoned iPhones as my main phone. Bought the original Z1 compact and now have a Z3. Has an incredible camera, no lag, no bloatware and so very customisable plus it looks gorgeous. The Z3 compact has just about the same size screen but is physically smaller than the iphone 6. Iphones are still ok, but the competition has caught up and even surpassed them in my opinion. And I'm an Apple fanatic by the way.

Well Steve Wozniak even said that the iPhone 6 is 3 years late . . .

Just got the Z3 compact. This phone is nice! Haven't used it on T-mobile yet until I get all the accessories.

Last straw was to update to OS 8.1.2 to try to fix the 5S' issues. Nope. OS 8 sucks. I don't know why Apple has to make little tweaks here and there to the interface. God I wish they had just repaired my first 5S phone. Thanks, Apple.

My wife and daughter have the 6+ and I have the 6.

Streets ahead of the previous 5 in pix quality and speed.

I have a leather flip case and it still keeps the 6 down to nice size.

A test pix - macro setting no special lighting.
