Rolex in Russia
Hoping some of our Russian members or those frequently in the area can comment. Have prices for Rolexes in ADs and boutiques adjusted after the significant drop in value of the Ruble over the past month? I'm headed to Europe very soon and was thinking it might be worth flying out to Moscow to purchase a SkyDweller or some other PM model at ostensibly a serious discount relative to US.

.
Rolex isn't officially selling watches in Russia. Mercury group is a privately owned company and got an exclusive contract to sell Rolex watches there (as well as many other luxury brands like Ferrari , Bentley ...) They'll probably increase their prices |

Love the city. But flying there just to get a Rolex is a terrible idea.

BTW, during such troubled times many luxury dealers switch to using a more stable currency in their price lists -- even though it may not be entirely legal. The local Jaguar/Land Rover dealer simply switched to EUR prices on their price list to avoid losses on the jumping conversion rate.

Did dealers in Thailand dealers do the same (adj. prices before Rolex issue a new price sheet) when the Baht took a dive years ago?

It's not advisable due to the inflation rate in Russia at 11.5%. Even in the good times in Russia I would see high end goods priced in dollars or euros due to the ruble being unstable. Also the prices were higher than the what can be found in the States.
