Tried an AD but they want me to take watch and bracelet in to be measured by their watchmaker - I just want spring bars - I guess there 20mm wide but what about thickness and type?

I think they are pretty standard 20mm without the shoulder, I have bought them off e-bay before, they usually specify as being suitable for Rolex

I think to never compromise on springbars is a good route to take.
If your AD is conveniently close enough and will perform the fitting while you wait it's money well spent. |

For a lot of things I would say yea, order. In the case of spring bars, nay.
OF, approx $1.57 each, min order before shipping is $15, so you have to order 10 pcs. Shipping is $11.70 for that. If I'm not mistaken the last time I got a new set for my 5513 they were $20 for the 2. Supposedly, if I trust the local AD, they are Rolex but nonetheless they are perfectly fitted and stable/secure. I have no pangs of regret for giving them the money. |

The proper spring bars for your watch are Rolex part number 23-9291.
They are 2mm shoulderless with pivots of 1.2mm. It seems nuts that an AD would want your Rolex to be "measured by a watchmaker" for something they should have in stock. Perhaps their watchmaker would have been more knowledgeable though, and may have had them in his parts bin..
