Can someone school me on Rolex Buckles for leather straps?

Hey everyone I am thinking about getting a nice leather strap for my TT DJ and want to find an original Rolex gold buckle. What do I need to look for or look out for? Will a 16mm width buckle fit the 20mm band? Thanks for the help, Wesley

**ETA: Some pics of straps on DJs would be greatly appreciated. Wes

Only if you get a tapered strap, that goes down to 16mm. If you get a straight strap, a 16mm won't fit a 20mm...

Can't help you with pics, sorry!

yeah you better off getting the band first, they have 18mm buckle which may be a better way to go

So does that mean that Rolex sells a new band with the buckle? Thanks, Wesley

I have not seen one like that before. I have seen the Daytona bands but yeah, $350 for the band and $900 for the buckle! Got anything else? Thanks, Wesley

you can try ebay they have original buckles on there and original straps too. You can always read the desription and ask the seller about the specs. Well at least you will save some money on Ebay. For an original buckle and band in good near new condition price on ebay goes for around $130 auction. Just make sure you ask seller that it is a signed and original buckle cause there are some aftermarket floating around and the seller does not diclose.

For my TT DJ I ordered a 20mm carbon fiber strap. Once it gets here I will measure the buckle and replace it with an original Rolex buckle. Will post some pics in a few weeks as the watch is being serviced as we speak.
