Informal London Spring GTG

I would like to see if there is any interest in a spring GTG in London on Thursday 23rd April in the Oxford Street area starting early evening.

This is aimed at those of us who work in or around London. Of course Northerners and citizens and natives of the Kingdom of Belgium are welcome too!

Scammers and con artist definitely not welcome!

I will provide the exact location to those intending to attend nearer the time.

So far I have interest from the following:

Xenophon - Nathan
Rootbeer7 - Edward
Diamond Jack - Steve
The Joker - Wes

This is not a replacement for the excellent Summer GTG that Spud organises, and no doubt that will also go ahead.

Please let me know your interest by adding to this thread.

Well, its not far from Stockholm to London. GTGs seems rare here in the cold north. Maybe its all icebears on our streets.

As an aside, hasn't "The Joker - Wes" changed his name on his profile to "Carlll" or something ? By April maybe it will be "call me Susan".

& YMII Nath'....??

Good on you matey, there's a Father & Son team who I deal with at work and they sport the YG & WG versions respectively.....
YG's a bit much IMHO but the WG runs the Blue-Sub' a very veryclose second as my 'one day' watch!!

Wear it in good health mate.

Thanks mate, stainless for me though. I've had it a while. It's only been back to Rolex once with a hacking problem. To be honest, I don't think it's a keeper. I'll still have it for the GTG, I reckon.

I have sent the details of the above GTG to those who have expressed an interest. If anyone else would like to join us please let me know either by posting on this thread or by PM and I will provide the details.

A number of you have requested we don't publish the venue on a public forum so may I request that the attendees respect those wishes.

See you all on the 23rd

I know you and a couple of others have said this, and I do have to agree. Some serious watches have been on the table

That's always the challenge in London, sadly. Maybe it's my age but I can be bothered with shouting when out for a drink and a chat...

Yes great to catch up and thanks for organising Gabriel........but that pub was crazy........ Also, given I only had an hour or so free, spending the first 15 mins at the bar was a bit of a wind up........ Couldn't believe how many people were at that boozer....... Must have been over 200 with the crowd outside. And about 3 people serving......never again!!!

But it would be good to arrange another of these quick little gtgs (somewhere else) as it's always great fun and clearly chatting about all things horological is what we love to do.......
