One more reason why TRF is great!!
I log on this afternoon for the first time all day. Wow there are 3 pages of new posts to read through, I better get cracking. Well between the banter with friends like John and Frans it takes me two hours to finally read through the posts.
Gotta like a place where you can bump into a friend at any hour of the day almost.

Forum life
By one of our correspondents. One of the lesser known Internet activities to the public at large is the participation in so-called forums. The name is derived from Latin and means market square. At an Internet forum people with a common interest post messages on a message board and discuss topics concerning that common interest. But this seemingly harmless activity has its dark sides. And it’s this dark side that I want to expose here. One of the victims of this dark side is a Dutch citizen who wants to remain anonymous. We talked to him at a secret address because he doesn’t want his spouse to find out although he suspects she has her doubts already. “It all started out quite harmless”, the victim explains. “I was greeted by a couple of forum regulars who went out of their way to make me feel welcome”. “At that time I didn’t have a notion about what horror was awaiting me”, he explains whilst fighting back the tears. “All of a sudden the silly jokes about my Dutch nationality started and soon after that accusations about drug trafficking and the possession of gold clad menswear surfaced”. “I thought it was all harmless until I started to receive threats by e-mail and PM”. “The whole evil machinery is conducted by a couple of Canadians, a Hawaiian, an inhabitant from Washington DC and a mailman from New York”. This correspondent was absolutely baffled and outraged by all of this and decided to investigate. More news will follow as soon as it reaches our offices. Said victim is now in therapy but his future is bleak. “Be warned, don’t fall for same sweet-talk I did, those guys know now mercy. I think they pick on minorities to compensate for their lack of manhood”.

By the way, I haven't seen any silly jokes about your Dutch heritage, just a few facts being thrown about....... |

I think we need to buy Dutchie an Apple fritter & Tim's Double Double to help snap him out of his funk.
And I was going to post a pic of all my cables just for him.

That was a beautiful piece of fiction, Frans. Very well done.
I wonder how you'll react when we start bashing you and your heritage, though. |
