Polar 16570 on a dark brown Bund?
I am thinking of putting this watch on this strap. Any comments, positive or negative, would be welcome (before I go ahead and buy the strap).
thanks |

not for me because personally I tried the leather on my 16750 with and without endlinks but still prefer it on bracelet.

I'd go for it.. The 16570 really lends itself to the strap look, can always change back anyway! you might love it.

That type of strap has never done it for me, but I think the color is great with a polar Explorer II. Additionally, I will say, I can't imagine a rolex that would look better on that strap than the polar explorer II.

I'm actually looking at similar but on a tan bund strap. Couldn't find any reasonably priced ones yet.

I've got a Bund begging for a watch and also was thinking about the EXPII on it. I may try it out.

Those bund straps are nice. It will only last a few months in HK before it starts to foul on you but it will look great! I had a black on from HK on a sub and loved it.

Thanks guys. For anyone interested its a Rios Tula, to be found here for $45...http://www.rios1931shop.com/
Weatherwise, I'd save it for winter, which is mostly dry and cool in HK. Or for indoors. Anyway, still thinking? |

I would go with a kangaroo nato. Tried a number of colors and a darker color is best, as it provides good contrast.

White dials often makes perfect match with brown leather straps. :)
Bund however; personally I find it gangster style. |

Adam, I thought last time we talked you were moving away from straps? Maybe you just meant NATO? I like the bund but it seems from others posting here longevity might be an issue?
I'm a bracelet guy anyway so my opinion is biased. Just yesterday I was admiring the links on my subs bracelet (93250?). The way they taper perfectly and the beautiful curves embedded in it! My vote, stick with the bracelet! |

I like Bund straps in general. The Exp II is a true tool watch made for adventure. I think its a great combination.
Don't worry about the purists who say it belongs on the bracelet. Its not like your throwing away the bracelet and welding the watch tot he strap.

Plus I also have a black dial 16570 if the white doesn't work. Not sure I can see any other model on there, though.

And one more thing; the 16570 fits perfect with just black straps as well. I use the wife's 16570 on black Nato or brown Natos.

Adam, weren't you selling your white dial 16750? Did you have a change of heart?

I like the Explorer on a bund strap. Particularly older Explorers. I think Explorer IIs look best on bracelet. But that's just me.

I think Bund straps look good on certain watches.
Kyle L used to post pictures of his Explorer on a Bund and it looked good. I think that the Explorer II will also look good on that strap.

I like dark brown with polar combo. I didn't like how the bracelet fit my wrist. I have skinny wrists and the clasp was tilted towards one side after removing the links.
My Exp II is currently on a dark brown (chestnut) racing strap. It's a lot more comfortable! |

Would be ok as a novelty but I think I would tire of it quickly.

I wore my 16570 with a dark brown perlon strap for a short time and it looked great.
In my experiences the change up of straps is more of a short time novelty and always as it seems, I miss the bracelet and switch it back. |

I've tried several straps on my 216570. Most looked good and I enjoyed how much lighter the watch wore. Most had either an orange accent or lighter brown which complemented the orange 24 hour hand. I think a reddish brown strap would work well with your Explorer II Adam. I don't know if the 16570 has the sharp case back edges which cut into all but thin straps. Although I've never been a bund fan, but could see how it would work well with the Explorer--sharp case back and all.
