1962 Tudor Submariner w/ Snowflake Dial

Hey guys, I just joined the forum. I Inherited a super vintage Tudor from my great grandfather after he passed away it was in rough shape when I received it. The crystal was super beat up and the strap was broken. I took it to my local lee micheals jewelry store spoke to a super awesome watch maker who told me it needed to be oiled, needed new seals and need to replace the crystal because it didn't hold pressure. I was on another forum and was told to kee the original crystal. I originally wanted to but ended up replacing it with another oem Rolex crystal (I kept the original). Anywho here are some pics. Please any feed back is awesome. I have the original strap but it's broken and I'm having a hard time finding the small part so I just got a leather fossil band.

i'm sure it's a bit later than 62, rolex and tudor SN charts don't interchange. beautiful watch though.

Looks nice, not a 62 but probably a mid to late 70s. What's the model number between the lugs? Need better pics but it looks like you have a nice Snowflake.

Hi and welcome - nice watch form your grandfather. Best to replace the crystal with the service, so that was the right thing to do. As others have said - probably around mid-70s. If so, serial would be around 84XXXX-ish. If it has a red/black (roulette) date-wheel, it would be earlier (late 60s). Check model ref. no. and serial no. - both found between lugs.

OK, great, that puts it around 1969 - so does it have the roulette date-wheel?

Excellent - many congrats. We'd love to see some more photos of it.

If you have the original oyster bracelet, you can have it refurbished by Michael Young's company in Hong Kong. Do a search here for details/examples/feedback. They'll get it back to almost good as new.

Wonderful snowflake, I would prefer it on a NATO as well, or maybe distressed leather. Enjoy it!

I love the snowflake. It is my favorite out of my 6 watch collection. Even though it's cost is a third of some that I owe. It still brings me great satisfaction every time I wear it. The best part about the snowflake is that you will never find 2 alike. Cheers:)

Good looking snowflake! the first one I ever owned looked identical and was really close in S/N. Enjoy it for years to come!

Very nice Snowflake! I'm still kicking myself for seeing a likely unpolished 7021 with fantastic patina for sale and deciding to wait until the next morning to contact the seller. Of course it was sold by the time I woke up.
