My 154500OR needs fixing.

I haven't worn it for a while, went to set the date and discovered that there is resistance when moving the date forward. Instead of being able to simply click it around clockwise the winder meets resistance and then I have to wind anticlockwise slightly then back to clockwise for the date to change.

Not the end of the world as it's less than a year old, just a hassle as I have to find time to take it to AP in London to be fixed, which I expect will take a while.

I've only worn it a dozen times as I prefer my gold Submariner for daily wear. My sub has been knocked around a lot and runs like a dream.

Oh well. Like I say, it's not a massive deal just a bit disappointing :-( .

Did you try to reset the date after this poor experience? I sometimes take the crown out a bit too gentle and it doesnt get in gear properly. Usually a second attempt fixes it

Did you try to change it manually a few hours before or after midnight? My understanding is that the date change mechanism is engaged between 9 pm and 3 am

The watch had stopped when I changed the date, however I don't recall what time it had stopped at. I suspect it may have been somewhere between 9pm and 3am then because today (at 3pm) I have taken another look and it seems to be absolutely fine. Perhaps I worried too soon? I've never had an issue with Rolexes so maybe I need to pay a little more attention to the AP when changing the date.

Try to set the date again when the watch is at 6 or 7am position. I experience this once on my 15400 and doing so make the problem go away.

Just be careful with flipping the date over manually if the date change mechanism is engaged by the movement. You'll eventually break something. It's best to advance the hands to 6 or 7 am and then change the date. I usually do it this way and then hack the movement when the second hand is back at 12 to set the time.
