RO 15300 vs 15202. Which one to get at current prices?

Hey guys,

On the hunt for the next watch, and I am sort of torn between these two.

I love the blue dial, and the 39MM is the perfect fit for my wrists.
Now the prices for the 15300 have gone quite high, and i'm not sure if they will stay there, but with the current prices for the 15300's I can't help but feel the 15202 is the way to go.
A more modern AP which won't require servicing anytime soon, a really cool movement, and lastly also a watch that will more likely retain value I believe.

Looking for input from you guys though!
Thanks in advance

Jumbo because it's thin light and beautiful. Was questionable before prices went high on the 15300, now it's more logical to go 15202 imho.

What's considered high for a blue 15300 now?

Judging by the for sale here 14500 seems to be asking price. Asking being the key word.

I'd go jumbo as well. The price difference between a used 15300 which will likely require a service vs a relatively new jumbo is probably around 3k.

Thank you guys for the responses.
My thought's exactly.
I am not sure how much an AP service generally costs, although I have heard of that it can be quite expensive.
Any average figures anyone can give us?

But I am definitely now leaning towards the 15202 because of the little price difference between the two, and the fact that this is newer, likely to hold its value more, etc.

I'll be "the one" on this thread and buck the trend.

15300. I had a Reverso without a second hand, and I learned that I missed having a second hand - it really gives the watch "life."

Zero question 15202. If you're in the US, check out WAK4 since he's selling a mint one.

OK...have to say, I love the 15300. Have not held a 15202, but no seconds hand would put me in a snit. I would HATE that.

That said, the blue dial on the Jumbo is quite pleasant. I do think the 15300 is pretty darn svelte. I need to try the Jumbo on and see how wafer thin it is.

202.

The only thing you you need to make the best decision is to put them both on your wrist for 5 minutes to compare... No comparison :)

Another vote for the 15202. I made this very decision last year. I was worried about not having a seconds hand.

But from the second I wore the 15202 my concerns faded away and its been a wonderful year. This watch is so comfortable. It's iconic. The Royal Oak is one of the most significant pieces in the history of horology. The bracelet is a work of art. The way the light reflects off all the edges is marvelous. It just feels great. Elegant, sophisticated, just a superior piece.

Go with the 15202. It is just perfect IMO, just got one two weeks ago. I always thought not having a second hand would bug me but it doesn't at all. I love the simplicity and layout of the dial and the thinness must be experienced first hand.

You can get a 15300 with box and papers for around 12-13k... a 15202 blue will be at least 18k.

For 14k, you could get a blue 15300, which will maintain its value better than the black or white dials, or you could go vintage and get a 5402 - 5402 c series start at 12k.

I love the 15202, but i don't think the 5k premium is worth it. 5 years from now, as more and more supply comes out, they will be worth less.

id stick to a blue 15300 or 5402... you can even find them from a dealer that offers 1 year warranty.

Have a 15300 but i won't recommend it over a 15202. So 15202.
