Very Cool! Does it magnetically close or how does it work? I have seen some Goyard versions where the top is secured by a piece of leather that tightens like a belt. A beautiful piece my friend

Very nice! Haven't seen that before. Did you get it from the Goyard Boutique in San Fran?

Sorry to say that, but 3000$ for a box that looks like printed cardboard is a bit too much.
Despite the fancy etching process, etc. the thing still look quite plain.
And personalization also looks out of place - like the wrong font on the wrong surface.

it just folds over. It's a leather top that's quite stiff, nothing magical that holds it down

it was purchased at the Beverly Hills location (that's what I'm told anyway, it was a gift)

it's not for everyone, and as such everyone is entitled to their own opinion and i appreciate your feedback as much as the positive ones. The font is the only font Goyard offers.

Very nice, I bought my wife a Goyard bag earlier this year so I know they are not cheap. I think some confuse understated for plain. They are not as showy as LV, I must admit I am limited to the size of my safe as far as my box goes, hence I have a watch roll.

Great box and great write-up!
Although I was aware of it, I enjoyed reading again about the history of the Goyard brand.

I love their wallets. I wanted to pick one up this week, but woe is me, my gf just got me a different wallet for my birthday and feelings would be hurt by the switch.
