Inside Carmelo Anthony's $1mm watch collection

Thought I would share with everyone the article I came across.

Fun article I love the quote at the end. I am a sneaker, fragrance, and watch head.

We do have a few sneakerheads here on TRf judging from that sneakers thread we have in Rolex General.

And also did anyone see the following article on the two-month-old boutique named Material Good? Looks like a fine place for a TRF get-together!

Ok. I will ask the obvious question. How does a college kid at Syracuse give his brother an ALS and wear a Rolex to the draft. All while in college, where they (supposedly) don't get paid?

Short of that I like the fact that someone young and hip still loves to study and wear fine horology.

Easy. He was a guaranteed millionaire prior to the draft. He probably did it on credit, gift from his agent any number of ways.

That's what I'm thinking. He did go 3rd overall that's a lot of guaranteed money.

Credit would make sense if he was sure fire to be a multi millionaire, which he was, an AD that wants his business in the future extends him credit to go to the draft in style, sure. Again, who knows the details, but the article made it sound like someone just gave him the ALS as a gift. All American basketball player, sure fire lottery pick. Something just smells bad. But I am sure it happens all the time.

Simple: Like most guaranteed draft picks agents arrange for a line of credit for their players prior to draft. Doesn't smell bad at all and happens every day with top tier players.

PS Great article!

PS Great article!

Johnny Football was wearing a Day-Date when he got drafted -- this sounds like how he did it too (unless his family is loaded).

Nice article, thanks for sharing. That Material Good boutique sounds interesting with nice selection of vintage Rolex, I'll try to check it out next time I'm up in New York.

He should be a watch broker instead of being a basketball player. He's great at making teams worst and ruining any chemistry between them.
