Have a nice week to all friends here,
We just take a look at the Rolex patents and shared our toughts on this article. I am very curious to hear what you guys have in your minds ? Do you expect to see a new calibre with better GMT function ? Or a new case shape and bezel ? Thanks for reading. Upcoming Rolex Models on Horobox Last edited by kabzi; 9 November 2015 at 07:33 PM.. Rolex hasn't done anything technologically or horologically really interesting in 50 years. I think that's part of the appeal. A two colour ceramic bezel, not exactly earth shattering. A new hairspring design, not really solving global warming! Yes they have developed some experimental deep diving cases but that's just PR, there is no actual use for it in a digital age.

"We also see that Rolex is still working to get better than it’s current luminous material Cerachrom."
Cerachrom = luminous material ? |

I think the geezer might have meant that they are looking at better ways to incorporate luminous materials into the Cerachrom. Large companies like Rolex frequently file patents, that doesn't mean that the patented design will ever be used in production nor does it mean that the patented design is especially novel, interesting or groundbreaking.

Cerachrom is just Rolex speak for ceramic insert,plus the PVD type coating of the microns thick coating of precious metal to the fonts on the insert. Chromolight is Rolex speak for blue coloured luminover luminous paint on the newer models.

thanks for reading the article. As you can guess it was a mistake and should be "chromolight" and not cerachrome. We revised it and thank you very much for your help. |

I'm actually hoping that Rolex don't release anything "big", they should keep staying conservative. But sure, I wouldn't mind a butterfly clasp for the super jubilee 😎

If a "Rootbeer" comes out, the BLRO will have to take a backseat for a while.

It's funny, all that horological genius on display and the thing that gets the biggest rise (including me) is the possibility of a new rootbeer.

I'm pretty sure it will never happen, but if I could request something it would be a larger size GMT to go with my RootBeer.. say 42mm..
