"The Dark Knight" - Enthralling from start to finish!!

WOW!!!! What a superb movie, guys!!!

The wifey and I went and saw it this afternoon and enjoyed every mind-blowing minute of this truly well-made film.

I would sincerely vote for a posthumous Oscar to Heath Ledger for his brilliant portrayal as the Joker.

This is serious stuff, guys....none of that slap-in-the-face DC and Marvel comic stuff. Here, the guys get killed, there is blood and there is gore - not for the faint-hearted and certainly not for any person below the age of 13.

The story is gripping and holds the film firmly together. Aaron Eckhardt is superb in his role with able support from such greats as Gary Oldman and Morgan Freeman.

Special effects are perfectly executed and Batman's motorcycle is the highlight of the film.

This is one movie where you long for the villain (i.e. the Joker) to come on to the scene just to enjoy Ledger's absolutely superlative acting.

Not to be missed, guys - this one's got all the material to become the BEST film of 2008!!

Cheers - JJ

Yup, just watched it tonight. 2.5 hours - that's a record for an action thriller.
Ledger's a class act. Will they give him an Oscar?

Question is: Have they ever given an Oscar posthumously? He was bloody brilliant......all the way!!

A momentary lapse of intelligence and pop cultuire trivia caused mainly by overindulgence of cheap, supermarket cider and hot weather.

I'm sure after a good night's rest I will be working at 100% nerd efficiency!!

Due to increased ticket prices, it could get close in terms of sales, but in terms of # of tickets sold, it has a long long ways to go.

Loved the movie - only quirks were the batmobile's appearance and batman's voice. The bank scene immediately reminded me of another action movie

Sad to say, but I deem it as simply "okay".

Guess it was the hype that killed it for me. And as for Ledger, bleh. He did a decent job, but damn - kill yourself because the role made you all dark and stuff? Get real!

Anyway, yeah, it's a big screen movie. Worth the $10 or whatever it costs to see it on the big screen, yes. However, I just don't think it lived up to all the hype.

Like I said earlier, the best part of the film was seeing Bruce Wayne wearing a JLC Reverso Grande Taille. The art-deco inspiration behind the piece, with the somber black arabic indices really fit in with the dark yet austere mood of Gotham.

Saw it tonight with my family. I think the focus was on making a good action movie and not on making a comic book movie such as the early Batman movies.
I thought it was pretty interesting that they introduced Two Face into the movie as well.
