New daytona ceramic bezel

Hi guys,

Went to my AD in Bond Street, London tonight to view the new watches from Basel.

Welcomed with a glass of bubbly and canopies. Arrived at 6.45 for the 7.00 p.m. Reception but was welcomed in. Being the first there I was joined by a few members of staff who were really passionate about the new models. One walked me around whilst we discussed the new models in detail.

The lady who helped with my gmt blnr purchase last may then came to say hello. We sat and she went to get the 2 daytona's for me to try. I am on the list for the white face and still found it small ish but it was mesmerising. I tried the black face, loved it but unable to see the time on it.

Was told the following;
1. The blnr still has a 1 year waiting list with this AD. They still can not get them through quick enough to satisfy demand.
2. The new Daytona is to be sold to existing customers only.
3. The first watch will be with them in June. Being 4th on the list does not mean an October delivery but could be a year.
4. production of the current daytona stopped on announcement of the new model.
5. They have closed their lists and believe it will take 5 years to fulfill.

Apologies if nothing new and all has been shared on other threads.

Must add how charming, friendly and informative all the staff there were. After reading about some bad experiences on this forum, it is great to be treated so well and made to feel so welcome.

Was chatting with 2 young guys there. Are you members on here?

Finally, a few pics. Black and white together and one with my blnr as someone had requested on another thread.

Forgot to mention how beautiful this was and how great it felt on the wrist...

And finally, for my birthday yesterday my wife and 3 kids presented me with this...

What an insane wait list! I wish the time was easier to read on the black dial Daytona. I like the matching dial and bezel combo.

Great info, thank you! I see what you mean about the black dial, it's quite difficult to read the time.

Love the Yacht-master! I like the ceramic Daytonas as well, but agree with you that legibility for time keeping isn't optimal. Chronographs in general can appear busy, and while a the Daytona is beautiful, the sub dials in this layout do blend in with the hands at first glance, too much.
