Sub LV Question

I'm considering purchasing a Submariner LV. I really like the green bezel and feel the watch itself would come in handy because I'm a diver. I'd greatly appreciate it if anyone could answer my two questions:

1. Does the green bezel look out of place when you're wearing a suit or tuxedo? It'd be great if anyone had a picture of them in a suit or tuxedo with a Sub LV.

2. I've heard that some people get a lot of crap about their Rolex being fake when they're wearing the green bezel. Is that true? While I'm buying the watch for myself, I really don't want to be asked every time if its real, and then get pestered about the nontraditional green bezel.

Thanks :)

The Sub is a great choice.

1. Yes, the green does look ridiculous with a suit or a tux unless you are wearing tennis shoes.

2. I've never heard of anybody calling the LV fake just because it's green... If they do, tell them the history of the model.....Green is Rolex corporate color..the LV was introduced to celebrate 50 years of the Sub..yadda, yadda.....

Bah Larry...I want you to like Green...Can't you just say something nice once???

1. Looks great with dinner suit...women wear emeralds with little black dress and nobody bats an eyelid!!!

2. I often hear it's fake becuase rolex do not make a green sub. I just smile and agree! You're buying it for you...not them!

I am not sure I can answer but ...

I have a Sub LV and wear it more than any other watch I have, but I seldom wear suits. I don't see where it would look any more out of place with a suit than a regular Submariner, but I am no clothes horse.

I have only twice had anyone ask me about that watch and once was to ask if it was fake, but I don't care one way or the other about that.

The LV is a great watch, you'll love it,

1 Its your watch you can wear it with what you like, nothing is deemed out of place these days

2 IMO the LV is no more likely to be called a fake than any other Rolex model

I'm a big LV fan. There's always the option of a black insert.

I love everything about the LV except the bezel, if the bezels were much easier to get in the US, I would say get the LV, but since they are not, I would get the standard 16610. As far as going with a suit or a tux, there could be a lot worse!

I personally think the green LV looks good with all suits except maybe a tux.

Unless you have a spare bezel with a black insert, then it makes for a great combination with a tux.

Trust me, it worked for me in Aruba during wifey's company formal night.

The black bezel insert for the LV is NOT highly available in the US? How much do they usually cost?

Here in Canada their usually around $100 but the local AD's are asking more questions like why do you need one? and want to switch them out for you.

I have not been questioned yet in the 7 months I have had mine. I am extremely pleased with it. The Maxi Dial was the main selling point with me....plus the green makes it a little different. I cant see it clashing with a Tux. I think you would be very pleased with one!

I wear a suit and tie or just a shirt and tie everyday to work and I wear my LV 99% of the time. I just like how the green pops. A ton of compliments on it as it always catches someones eye.

Regarding the green bezel clashing with a tux or black suit, I think it all depends on your tastes, or that of those around you. IMO, I think it does clash a bit with a tux or "formal attire" events. However, for "business casual" events, the LV is fine (again, IMO).

I love the watch , but maybe you could buy a black insert/bezel for the more formal uses ....

good luck with your new purchase

I'm sticking up for the green here....

All this BS about it clashing with formal attire makes me laugh.

How many balls or dinners have you been to where a guy is wearing a different coloured bow tie or cummerbund???

And you guys are worried about a watch bezel?

J

I wholeheartedly agree!!! I wear mine formal and non-formal. The whole reason I bought the watch was for the amazing green bezel...
