I wasn't initially interested in the new Daytona but having seen them in the flesh I've ordered a white face to go with my non ceramic black.

It definitely does, fortunately. I owned a 116520 black dial and flipped it after 6 months bc it looked really small on my wrist. The white 116520 looked like a woman's watch on me. The 500C is perfect size on me!!!!

Sorry, I know that this has been said before, but I really hope that when my new watch arrives the AD doesn't invite people in to try it on before I collect it!
This is why I always say that I want to see it taken out of its packaging when I go to collect. |

Did the same with my Omega Snoopy Silver Award, I made him promise to not even take it out of the shipping container! As Gordon Ramsey said "IT'S THE CUSTOMERS' PRIVILEGE TO CRACK HIS OWN F*CKING EGGYOLK" |

If you've ever gone to an AD and tried on watches and not purchased then you've essentially just done for someone else what you wouldn't want for yourself. Personally, as someone holding off on their next Rolex purchase, I just want to see and feel the Daytona to make sure I'm not passing on some other good opportunities while I wait. I would love for nothing more than for a dealer to let me see someone else's for a few minutes to make sure for myself if it's worth waiting for. |

I see your point, but then again I didn't specifically order, or pay for, a virgin from the women factory when I was going to get married. |

I can understand people wanting to try things on before they buy things, that's why AD have stock in the shop for people to try, but it's also why I always order new watches from the factory to avoid this. If I get a call saying something is coming in do I want it, if I say "yes" I don't expect it to be passed around before I buy it. That's just me! I'm not saying someone who disagrees with me is wrong, it's just something I personally don't like. |

I agree entirely. I wouldn't be buying from an AD that would let me try on a watch that has already been purchased.

I think if a watch has been spoken for/purchased, then it's in bad taste for the AD to allow someone to try it on, unless the owner has agreed to it. I was in Charleston, SC a couple of months ago and the Rolex AD there had a new Tudor Bronze. I couldn't believe he had one in stock and he said that it was already spoken for but the owner was letting others see it. I asked if it was okay to try it on and he said absolutely, the owner wanted others to experience it before he picked it up. I tried it on and took a picture, but I also had the blessing of the owner. In regards to what others have said, you can't really compare picking up a random watch in a display case and trying it on to trying on one that the AD has already sold/super exclusive piece like the new Daytona - those in the case aren't guaranteed to be sold at all.

This is why these watches come with stickers. Sometimes it may impair for one to see exact look out of the watch and how it would look on the one's wrist though
Don't worry if your watch has been already been tried on, you can spray cologne and wash it under tap water as well as wet towel It's safe to do these treatments ;)

I would suggest that the stickers are to stop scratches actually, not to keep it clean when being worn.
If I am to pay overinflated prices for pieces of metal I think I have the right to at least expect that it is new metal and not something that others, who had no intention to or could not buy, had tried on. I know that different people on the forum have different ideas about what is 'new'. If I buy something 'new' I want it as close to as it left the manufacturer as possible and that means that I don't want something which has been used as a demonstrator for others to try before I buy. I know that I can take it home and clean it, but I shouldn't have to, after all I bought it 'new' so it shouldn't need cleaning should it! Just my thoughts. |

Shows how different we are
I left mine at my AD for a week so they could show other clients waiting for a Ceramic 500.
