Hi guys,

It's Sunday afternoon right now, but this morning was a very nice one.

Robin Holland (user name on TRF - robin) sent me a PM saying that he was in town and if we could meet up over a coffee or what. He left me his number in Auckland so I called him and we met up at the St. Lukes mall for coffee and a nice TWO-HOUR chat.

Guess what, guys? Robin went into Mansor's on Friday afternoon and picked up NOT one Rolex, but TWO beauties...the Ultimate 16610 (thanks to all the recommendations I had been giving it over the forum) and the Day-Date in YG. He did mention my name there and was given excellent treatment as well as a fabulous deal...more so, as he was taking both watches out of NZ, tax free. Robin lives in Queensland, Australia.

I also took him to the NIKE shop in the mall where he picked up a few things. He flies off tonight, but he will be back a couple of months later. Robin is an ex-Kiwi from Auckland who went off to Australia in '98 and is settled there now. He's a doctor, BTW, guys....and a wonderful person to be in the company of.

Great morning for both of us. I do wish more TRFites would come my way!!

It's always a good time when TRFites get together. I trust Robin will post some pics of his new beauties when he gets back to OZ.

Robin got himself the YG Day-Date, polished bezel on the oyster bracelet with concealed clasp, white dial with gold Romans...and, of course, the trusty 16610!

Unfortunately, I couldn't see either of his watches as they must have already been sent to Auckland customs by Mansor's where he will pick them up tomorrow morning on his way out....but I can surmise that his DD must look something like this beauty!!

Maybe the Mods at the forum could organize meetings / small conference for the interested ones depending on region to meet together.
We could put together a "Sheep tour" at JJ's place...Can you Imagine? All those sheeps around JJ at the airport arrival...

Even as I type this message, Robin is in flight on his way back to the Gold Coast. We did discuss you and Lol-x and he says he would try and catch up with both of you.

BTW, he was extremely happy with the deal he finally walked out of Mansor's with. He was also very sorry that I couldn't be there with him. It was a bit hurried and I wished he could have informed me earlier....I would have taken Friday afternoon off from work and gone with him.

Very nice guy, James....I hope you get the chance to meet up with him.
