85th Anniversary of the Reverso

Tonight, I was invited to celebrate the 85th anniversary of Jaeger LeCoultre's iconic Reverso. It was a small event of about 40 people, with good food and drink.

But the highlight of my night was getting hands on the 2016 Reverso Tribute Gyrotourbillon. Only 75 pieces will be made, and housed in a smaller, slimmer case than the 2008 Gyrotourbillon 2. I think it looks perfect on my wrist, but I can hear my wallet laughing at me...

Amazing! Love reversos in general, but that tourbillon is on another level

I didn't think I could ever see myself owning a Reverso before seeing that tourbillon...

Wow, thanks for taking us there with you. That gyrotourbillon is unreal.

I hope to check in (with a more modest iteration) by the time it hits the century mark!

I was told JLC wanted to pour us champagne the "Reverso" way, so they got a pair of acrobats to do exactly that!

Not sure how its Reverso if it didn't get spilled on the floor!

Thank God the event was not in Australia otherwise things would have been even more complicated!

Cheers gents

@masyv6 you are spot on. I've tried on several Reversos before in the past, none that I gelled with. They look great in pics, but I've never really connected with one. In fact, I'd pretty much given up on the idea of getting one. And hey, I can't afford the tourbillon, but this has almost convinced me that I can pull off the look and that I should some day look into acquiring one.

Wish I took more pics, but the drinks just would not stop flowing and good company kept me occupied. I also managed to get a short video of the Gyrotourbillon in action; not sure how to post a video here, but I'll link to YT here.
