Great food, pretty girls, excellent culture, weather is perfect (I spent all morning walking around, talking to shop keepers with my Gringo-accented Spanish), Even though it's a work trip, have a lot of leisure time for shopping and sight seeing.....

Be careful what you eat.

A few years ago, my wife and I went on a cruise from the UK around the Americas and we called in on some Mexican ports. We were advised to be very careful in eating the local food and sure enough, a high proportion of the cruise passengers spent the next day sitting on the WC and howling at the moon.

I would not wish you to suffer the same indignity.

Lucky you, Paul. I'm in Melbourne for the first time since 1992 and all I've seen is my hotel and counsel's chambers! I hope to have tomorrow to myself before flying home in the evening.

To all of you that are warning me about the food, and other things. I thank you for your concern

I grew up in Mexico, at least during my teenage years. I speak the language (heavily gringoed albeit) understand the culture and the food. Besides, I can't go to a different country and not sample the local quisine, like some people that travel abroad and eat at McDonald's
