If you don't want or need the date, I think the symmetry of the non date dial is cleaner.

But...I always will go for the date model as I tend to look for it out of habit. So, different strokes.

By the way, your reference numbers are incorrect.

I went for the none date due to the clean dial, and personally I did miss the date. Flipped the watch after 4 days.

A sub with date has better resale value, I understand.
Also, I think it is more noticeable as a Rolex.
Have had a Exp32mm for a few years and has gone unnoticed.
Which at times(pardon the pun) I quite like.
Had the sub with date a short while and people have noticed.
Must admit the sub with no date has possibly a more attractive face.
A cleaner look.
But it is quite convenient to have the date to hand without having to look at the iPhone!
But whatever you decide, it'll be good, 'cos it's a Rolex!
No worries!

If no preference, go cheaper so you can buy your next Rolex quicker.

I've had both and loved them but.....

Generally and after experiencing them, I've gone off cyclops a bit....

I use and like the date feature, so I'm not bothered by how it looks.

114060. I've always preferred the symmetry of dateless dials and cyclop-less crystals.

The 114060 looks much cleaner and symmetrical. Also its true to the original Submariner.....a classic!

I honestly can't see the date on my watches anymore without reading glasses so I'd go with the ND in this situation.

I'd probably go with the 114060. I've had mine 4 years and it get the most wrist time and it's the only watch I have without a date. IMO it's the perfect everyday watch. No wrong decision though why not pick up whichever you find in stock first.

I really like the cyclops and feel like it's nice to have a date complication. It's one of those things you only seem to miss once you no longer have it. I say go Sub-Date!

I have a no date and I love the look. Yes you will miss the date, but you can keep track of the date by moving the bezel. Either way what a beautiful watch!

That's pretty interesting, using the bezel for the date! Works perfect up til the 15th, then it gets a bit harder to see. Great idea!

I had the same dilemma and just picked up the no date version because like others have said I liked the symmetry of this one.

There's something special about the ND vs Date to me. My vote would go the the 114060.

ND is super quick to set and go as well. Both classic subs though. Id vote for 114060.

No date has a better balanced dial and flies under the radar on the other hand date with the cyclops is more recognisable as Rolex and has better resale value.

I was actually in a AD trying on both. Ive never had a no date Rolex before. Ive had the 16610 Submariner and other Rolex models but never the Submariner no date. When I tried both, for some reason No Date sang to me more. Like what everyone says its much cleaner. Also "classic" because original Submariner is a no date. The new 114060 Sub is very clean and stunning imo. This will be a tough choice, if you have other Rolex pieces with date, I would say go with 114060. But if this will be your first, then I would go with 116610. Hope this helps. Btw I did get the 114060 and I can't stop gazing at it every time I wear it.

for the current model sub I like it with the date better. Old style sub, I like the non date better

This is a tough call.

The symmetry and balance of the Sub is second to none. The sub date, while readily recognizable as ROLEX and very useful with the date function, at times looks too cluttered with the large hour markers AND the cyclops. Not an issue on the 5 digit Sub date 16610 due to considerably smaller hour markers.

This is of course my own personal opinion. Both are outstanding pieces. I've got two (non-sub) date Rolex watches and I'm not sure which I'd pick in this situation.
