Gmt master II vs explorer II vs omega aqua terra good planet gmt

I want to add a watch with a gmt to the collection but can't decide between a LN gmt or two tone gmt (not sure premium is worth it for two tone) vs the explorer II polar. Then I got to thinking about the aqua terra good plant gmt which is titanium, anti magnetic, and has a beautiful dial.
I have a hulk, DJ II, and a couple breitlings. I know this is a Rolex forum but I figured I would reach out to the WIS community and get your take. If you were going to add a watch with a gmt and it was between a gmt master, exp II polar, or the omega which would you go with and why?

GMT in my opinion is the best of the above mentioned, SS... I don't like 2 tone. BLNR even better!

Rolex GMT. The original and still the standard. The two tone is a definite step up, and my favorite TT in the Rolex line. But, you have to like two tone. I happen to like it a lot. It is not that much more expensive unless you are comparing MSRP, but I wouldn't be buying a TT at MSRP.

I think when he says "two tone" he is referring to the BLNR's two color bezel. All the watches he's referring to are SS, save for the Omega which is titanium. And there's a premium for the BLNR over the LN which "may not be worth it", a gold/SS watch's premium over a SS isn't a debatable issue.

Go with the GMT, BLNR or LN is personal. Like the BLNR in pictures but not so much when on my wrist.

Based on what you have it is in between the Explorer II and the GMT.

I'd go for the Polar because it is one of a kind in Rolex line-up.

Gotcha...to be honest, not a BLNR fan either. But, I do think the LN is one of the best modern sports watches made. So that would be my vote.

And no, the coaxial specs do not give the omega an edge...in my opinion, anyway.

The omega has some great features but I can't stand the way Omega comes out with so many different models. It devalues their watches. The GMTII LN has been the same watch since 2008 and now costs several thousand more at retail than one it was first released. I know resale value shouldn't matter if you plan to keep it forever, but I personally factor that in to any large purchase.
I also own a DJII, and the SDc but my GMTIIc LN was my first Rolex and gets so much wrist time I've barely had to wind it in 6 years. It s more legible than any watch I own and the GMT function is the best there is.

I agree. Omega has a special edition for everything nowadays. I sadly feel like they have really cheapened the brand. I'm afraid Omega will be going the way of Breitling if they continue their current trends.

They've always done that though. Any rolex enthusiast can easily name every submariner in order. Ask an omega person to do the same with the Seamaster! Can't be done. Too many of them, in so many different styles. Omega likes to make a model for a few years, change it, discontinue it, bring it back, change it some more, release LEs, etc. It's just what Omgea does.

But as far as the size if you were to go with the Omega, 43mm is quite big for a smaller size wrist. I used to own a 231.10.44.50.04.001 which is 44mm but it looked too big for me. The problem if the case is too big is that the end links won't be flushed against the case. There will be a gap.

This is currently my go everywhere, do everything watch. I travel quite a bit and the GMT function is priceless. It is the easiest to read in comparison to my other non-Rolex GMT watches. The triplock crown is overkill but it gives you peace of mind when if you were to go for a swim. The all black ceramic bezel coupled with the polished center links gives it a classic, classy look which would go with shorts and a t-shirt to a shirt and tie. LN is a fantastic piece. The green details are, in my opinion, the best use of colour in the entire Rolex lineup.

I'll stick with a GMT II LN all day. But if you're looking to mix it up, a Root beer is a nice variation and a classic...

I think a GMT II LN would be a great choice! You have a sub in a green dial, so something similarly sporty in a black dial/bezel would be nice. I'm not a huge fan of the BLNR, but I love the LN with the subtle green accent on the GMT hand and the name.

If you have the black dial/bezel thing completely covered with your Breitlings and you're happy there...then I think the Exp II Polar is another great GMT option and can definitely add some fun to a collection with the white dial/black outlined hands.

But my choice would be the GMT II LN...been eyeing that watch just recently and really starting to love it.

Thanks for all the replies. I'm leaning towards an LN gmt as the price point is nice (not opposed to BLNR depending on the premium I pay for it). I've seen some two tone gmt II pre owned going for decent prices so I'm not ruling that out. I like the yellow gold and black contrast. Either way I think it's gonna be a gmt II... Waiting for the right time to part with my ��
