Bracelet stretch and effect on value
Hey,
I have stretch on my 6251H bracelet for my 1601 DJ. I was curious to know if collectors would prefer the bracelet to be in original condition or would it be wise to fix the stretch from a watchmaker like Michael Young. The bracelet is from 1969 and the stretch is not terrible, but it is noticeable and I'd like to know your opinion on what you would do in this circumstance. Thanks, Tan |

I know when it comes to vintage stretch does matter in terms of sale price. Im currently selling my F serial Day-Date and a lot of peoples concern is stretch on bracelet. Good thing my bracelet has none to minimal stretch but people do ask.
Michael Young out of hong kong you can google him does amazing bracelet restorations. I would contact him and send him pictures. He can walk you through the process.

I would not consider that 6251 to be stretched and actually, the stretch appears to be minimal. The links are in need of a proper refinish, which is what I would recommend.

yes i agree it appears to be a folded jubilee and they were not very tight when new and that one looks like it's in great shape. i wouldn't even refinish it and just wear it as-is.

I agree it's not bad and I'd have it refinished, too.
