They're both dive watches, but they are very different watches, so from a collectors point of view, I can see owning the Sub, Sub Date, SD4000, and the DSSD.

Would I?

Not on my budget and since I'm not a collector in the truest sense, I can live that.

Do you appreciate the differences enough to drop that kind of cash on both?

Lol. Funny enough I do own both but I think there is a difference. Size for one crystal for two and of course the clasp. Oh and no date window.

I had a dssd the same time as a 16610lv. I flipped the dssd for a 116613lb bluesy. Go figure!

The Deepsea. I play golf everyday so would have to keep taking it off as its too heavy for my arm rotation through impact...

But, my GMT. Can leave that on always...on and off the course

My Sub C date does everything the DSSD does (that I care about) in a reasonably sized package. I have no use for the DSSD and if somebody gave me one I would sell it to buy something else.

I sure would if I wanted to. For us it's all about the myriad subtle differences that others would think are minuscule. I have a 14060 and a 116600. To me they are completely different watches, but my wife can't tell them apart.

DSSD too big for my wrist. SD4k is very nice but not fan of 6 digit divers, I feel like wearing a brick on my small wrist. I own 16600, 16610, 16610LV and 5513.

Too much alike. I backed off (so far) from buying a SubC because it's too much like my BLNR GMT. But, if you have the money for both, buy them, and live with them for awhile.
